Acceptable forms of payment when selling a used car.
I am selling a vehicle and am wondering what a secure way of accepting payment would be so I don't get scammed by some fake money order...?

I know cash is the safest, but I am not expecting the buyer to show up with $12k in cash...

Not to mention the fees you'd have to pay on a transaction of that size.

If you're open to online transactions, look into Dwolla. It'll cost you 25c, but that's it.

Otherwise, you could look into an escrow service if you REALLY want both sides to be protected.
