And the NY - Montreal game is on. I don't watch hockey.

I've been here 20 minutes and seen 6 goals.

Place is going apeshit.

Hey, I'm open to suggestions. Just saw a bar with TVs next to my hotel.

Everything I've had up here tastes like shit. The chicken everywhere sucks. Steaks are dry and tough. The two times I've been here I went to the nice joints people steer me towards.

Did you try "the Keg" for a steak? They're usually pretty good.

Great general area for bars and good restaurants - King St & Portland St. Bier Market for beers or The Spirithouse for a wicked selection of booze and Gusto 101 is a great Italian restaurant. I used to work right there and that's where every hot girl in the city is at. Not exactly sure why but I don't ask. Also a good titty bar there as well. Tons of restaurants and bars there.

Yep, Hy's is good too, although, it would be a bit of an acquired taste for a mid-westerner. Both the Keg and Hy's are a bit pricey. Here's Hy's menu:

If you're there for another night and want to see where the locals hang out, hit the Ossington Strip. Ossington Street between Queen and Dundas. Most of the strip is lined with bars and restaurants.

I lived in downtown Toronto for a year from mid-2006 to mid 2007 and one evening I was watch the Maple Leafs get killed as they were down by 4 goals with less than 2 minutes left. It was a Sunday night and I asked them to change one of the four TVs to the football game and I nearly got my ass beat! They wanted to kill me-stupid Canucks!
