With the draft and free agency now behind us, which team will become the AFC Champion?

Denver. There isn't a more talented roster in the league than Denver's. Hell we made it all the way to the Super Bowl last year without 6 of our starters (not counting guys like Koppen and Stewart Bradley who got hurt during training camp), and three of those 6 were All Pro Caliber players (Von, Clady and Chris Harris). You take three Pro Bowlers off of any other team in the league and they would be lucky to make the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl.

This upcoming season has true fan written all over it... 7-9 at best, in most of the games, no threat to get your heart broken on the big stage, win a MNF game, bring back the Arrowhead mystic... Blah Blah Blah...

Draft an OL in round #1, wash rinse repeat...........
IF we make the playoffs, with this hellacious schedule, we should make some noise. Making the playoffs is where the doubt should lie.

The only way we could make it is if a number of teams $3it the bed.

Something like Manning and Brady both going down for the year...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

This is our best bet, unfortunately.

I predicted Chiefs would lose this game after we lost the playoff game to the Colts.
So now I'm forced to pick to whom. Ugh. Colts again.

We should have sucked a lot more for Luck. He's gonna be this generations Elway for the Chiefs.

According to the defensive breakdown on this site http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef
Last years Dung-keys team played 4 teams in the top half of defensive rankings . This year they have to play 9 teams in the top half of the league defensively. This will be no cake walk for them. And the most talented roster in the league? Maybe but ask Philly how their dream team roster worked out for them. You added Ware who hasn't played a full season in forever and is in decline. Added Ward who was a good pick up. Added Talib who is injury prone and not as talented as the media likes to give credit for. Let Knowno go and I guarantee you'll be missing him. I'd say the Decker/Sanders trade off is a push. Beadles is gone. Manning is a year older, and you're gonna have those elite defenses showing what we already knew.... Manning does t wanna get hit and all you've got to do is get pressure in his face to catch one of those ducks. Just my opinion but I don't think it gonna be Denver.

Ware has missed 4 games in his career, 1 game in 2009 and 3 games last year. He played with an injured elbow all of last year and still had a good season. Ware will probably have the biggest impact this year of anybody we signed.

Ok your def right on the games played. My bad! But he has done nothing but decline in the past few years. Look at his stats http://www.nfl.com/player/demarcuswa...49/careerstats

Doesn't look like someone who is gonna have a big impact but maybe....

Ware will probably be good for 12 sacks. That would be my guess..

As to the OP, I'd have to say there's a good chance Denver repeats this coming season just because the AFC blows dicks. This will be their last chance to make a splash before Manning kicks the bucket.

His sack totals were bound to drop from the 19 he had a couple years ago. Ware still graded out well on PFF (8th among 4-3 DE's in pass rushing productivity, 3rd in run stop%). Again, he played through an elbow injury last year, that would explain the drop in his sack total last year.

Dalton does blow bags of dicks in the playoffs but that roster is so, so stacked. They're about to get Geno Atkins and Leon Hall back, too. Gio Bernard and Tyler Eifert with another year under their belts. Shit could get ugly in the AFC North.
