Would KC move up in the 2nd round?

Seems like there might be around 2-3 good ILB prospects available at the top of the 2nd round. With DJ trying to make a comeback..it seems like a pressing need/insurance. Would it be worth it to trade up? This is a deep draft..especially at WR so what they give up could be costly.

I'd prefer a trade down in round 1 before making a trade up in round 2, but that's not really the question.

I'd say, sure, there is one player I'd consider moving up for at ILB and that is Stephone Anthony. I think he's going to be a damn fine player in this league. He's got good size, strength, and speed, and was rock solid on Clemson's D. I wouldn't move up for any other ILB though.

If we're talking a different position, then yeah, there are quite a few guys I'd move up for if I thought they wouldn't make it to the Chiefs' selection. A handful of WRs, maybe a few OTs, several defensive players. All depends on how the board is falling.

• Stephone Anthony (Clemson) in the 2nd.
• Eric Kendricks (UCLA) in the 3rd.
• Paul Dawson (TCU) in the 3rd.
• Taiwan Jones (Michigan State) in the 4th.
• Hayes Pullard (USC) in the 4th
• Mike Hull (Penn State) in the 5th.
• Jake Ryan (Michigan) in the 5th.
• Ben Heeney (Kansas) in the 6th.
• Ramik Wilson (Georgia) in the 6th.
• Zach Vigil (Utah State) in the 6th.

I'd say that Perryman, Anthony, Jones, and Pullard are all three-down LBs. You could probably play Heeney, Wilson, and Vigil three downs as well, with middling results.

I'd say it's unlikely we trade up at any point. Just based on Dorsey's history and how things are done in greenbay. They rarely give up something to get something else. But then again I was floored when I found out greenbay was secretly making a run at revis. And the fact we were to must mean he's absolutely perfect in the Ted Thompson grading system.

I agree and can't see any reason to not try and get an every down ILBer. A situational ILBer seems like a waste of roster space. If we're pulling the trigger, let's go for the gusto.

Was wondering if you agreed with this scouting report on him from NFL.com or if you think the criticisms are mostly unwarranted given that his strengths are so high in other areas:

STRENGTHS One of the most productive linebackers in college football. Never quits on a play. Active pass rusher who worked well in team blitz scheme. Team leader. Reads pass keys quickly and gets into coverage with depth. Shows awareness in zone and matches up with crossers in his area. Has adequate man-cover skills. Decent hips to open and run. Wrap-up tackler who brings some bang on perimeter tackles. Worker bee who plays with confidence and hustle.

WEAKNESSES Gets overwhelmed by offensive linemen. Not a take-on linebacker and below average at slipping blocks. Not as instinctive as production would indicate. Not a natural downhill player. Can get lost in crowd and washed down against run. Benefited from aggressive, attacking scheme. Marginal speed. Doesn't look to punish backs in blitz pickup.

I'd disagree about the "doesn't take on OL" part. He'll stand dudes up. In fact, I think he stacks and sheds quite well. Actually, he seems to want to get into the linemen a bit too much at times if anything, but that doesn't necessarily translate over to him not getting off them to make the play.

I think he's one of the best at getting past the LOS and into the backfield to make the play and that's not just on called blitzes - he makes a lot of impact plays behind the los. (Opposed to say a guy like Kendricks who seems to make the majority of his tackles after/past the line of scrimmage.)
