Al Saunders retires

Saw some news that he is retiring from football. I wish him well.

http://www.silverandblackpride.com/2015/4/10/8382895/al-saunders-turns-down-oakland-raiders-front-office-job-retiress

Also John Madden turned 79 yesterday. My favorite Madden quote?

“Hey, the offensive linemen are the biggest guys on the field, they’re bigger than everybody else, and that’s what makes them the biggest guys on the field.”

At least Madden's "blurt out the first thing that comes to mind" commentary can be amusing. Like, "The best way to gain yards is to advance the ball down the field from the line of scrimmage."

Phil Simms' asinine remarks just make me want to throw something.

Anyway, I've wanted Saunders to be OC for a few years now, but he seemed to really not want that level of responsibility anymore. He seemed to prefer a more auxiliary-type of role.

Al Saunders retired after Larry Johnson was supposed to block Scott Fujita at Dallas in 2005.

Eat shit, Raiders fan.

How many games have you attended in Oakland? I've asked several times and your stupid, reeruned, lame ass has never responded.

I hope the Raiders are sub .500 forever. Oh, and **** you and the Faders.

John Madden is only 79? That fat-ass looked 79 on the cover of Madden 97.

I've always liked Madden though. I just wish the video game bearing his name would cut it out with the monopoly bullshit and let 2K into the business so they can get their asses kicked again.

Heads up Jiu Jitsu Jon. This is incredibly mild in terms of insults around here. Reporting these types of posts will just cause us to take away your ability to report them. The more you know...

That was reported? There wasn't even a single mention of aids or antifreeze. Clearly, Dane wasn't even trying to insult the guy. More like he was flirting with him. Good grief.

Bye Al....

As for Madden, based on most of what we have to suffer today as "analysts", at 79 he's still better than most.

If you prefer the Dion Sanders types that's fine, I choose to think they were great players (and Dion was and awesome player) but are terrible in front of the camera. Far worse than Madden IMO.

Talking about game color commentators.

Studio analysts are hired because of their appeal to the dipshits who are only watching because of name recognition.

Most of those guys have no business in front of a mic.

There is a reason he kept getting interviewed to be a head coach and never got hired to be one. (San Diego doesn't count he inherited that job)
