Same here. My wife will get out there and cruise along until I tell here to get in the right lane. Her response? "There's no one behind me! If someone eventually gets behind me, I'll move!"

I once left a post saying this on another thread just to piss people off. It looks like I did.

I used to pass these idiots while I would be in the right lane. And my truck was governed at 62MPH.

I'm passing. I just may not be passing as fast as you intend to pass.

I personally don't mind that as long as the person isn't getting into the left lane long before they're actually passing someone and they don't spend 5 minutes doing it.

For all the stupid shit r8ers says, he once said as a truck driver he just wants people to GTF away from him, and I couldn't agree more... it grinds my gears when there's a cluster of cars out in the middle of no where because a couple of dumb****s are incapable of passing a truck. OTOH, sometimes it's the person being passed who decides to speed up.

If someone is going 70 mph in the right lane, and I'm going 72 mph. It's going to take me a while to pass them, you know.

2mph is over 10,000 feet in an hour, or 88 feet every 30 seconds... so, no, that wouldn't take long.

How about you goose it up to 75, complete the pass in short order, get the **** out of the way and let everybody get on with their day?

Or what's better is when these left lane cock knockers realize you're passing them on the right and speed up so you can't complete your move. Those ****ers should get dick cancer.

I (when I was driving longer distances ) would find myself in a situation where I was cruising along in the right lane, and would get over to pass a car going slow. As I was passing, someone would be cruising along in the left lane, going faster than myself, with a train behind him/her. Once I passed, if I was done, I was happy to get over, but if there was another car just ahead that I needed to pass, and if getting over for the train to go by was actually going to **** up my speed, I figured, "**** 'em." I know I pissed a lot of people off that way.

Makes sense... I made several trips between here and Detroit at one point, and people in Michigan love creating huge lines to pass trucks, so you'd end up with like 30 cars in the left lane, which would create a situation where people started trying to skip the line... obviously the extreme side of things, it's not nearly so bad around here.

I'm usually coming up to the train... and I try to be patient, but sometimes end up playing leapfrog. Some people are aware enough to realize that an approaching car at 7+mph will easily pass them once they pass and get over and they'll have a few seconds to get back in the left lane, while others are too lazy to get over or whatever and then spend 4 days approaching the next car to pass.
