Loose change on the ground. Do you pick it up?

On my walk home from work yesterday, I found 87 cents on the ground. I'm not sure why there was 87 cents on the ground, but it was three quarters and twelve pennies all lying together. I'm not going to pass up 87 cents.

However, I wasn't born yesterday. Before I picked it up, I looked around to be sure it wasn't a trap. There were no snares, no people hiding in the bushes, and the coins didn't look like they'd been superheated. So I scooped them up.

There's a little bit of context for picking up coinage on the ground. If I'm in a busy pedestrian area, I generally won't stop for anything under a quarter. But if I'm walking by myself and see a penny, heck yeah. You invest that penny in google, and you probably end up with a quarter by the time you retire.

What's the smallest amount of money that's worth stopping and bending down for? For poll purposes, you can assume that you're walking by yourself in a non-crowded area where you don't know anyone.

A penny saved is a penny earned according to Ben Franklin. So a penny picked up is just that much more to save/earn!

It doesn't stop with pennies. I'll never forget, when I was a kid, and about to buy a soda. I took a dollar out of my wallet and clenched it with my lips as my hand were full as I went to the cashier.

My uncle was with me, and he stopped me. He told me about going to a strip club where the strippers would let you stuff tips in their asshole if you rolled it up like you were snorting coke with it.

Stopped that practice that moment.

Upright Citizens Brigade. Kind of like Second City, or The Groundlings.

That's Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh. Matt Besser and Amy Poehler started there as well. Andy Daly and Horatio Sanz passed through as well.

Dimes are so underrated. They're the smallest so they're always overlooked yet they pack a mighty punch at a rate of .10, I shall gather them all.

I've heard finding pennies on heads up are good luck so I'll stop for pretty much everything that isn't a penny on tails up.

I think about how ridiculous that is every time I do it.
