SyFy: The Magicians

Time to start a thread of its own for this series, as I feel like it's really coming into its own. Firstly, I love the source material here, and I'm a HUGE fan of the books. As for this adaptation, so far I like the actors, I like the characters, and I like the way they've handled the adaptation.

This series, imo, has a lot of potential. If you're sleeping on it, it's definitely worth a try.

So after a few other Syfy shows that have been pretty decent lately, I started to give this a watch on Netflix.

Holy shit it is bad.

I can hear the pitch now.

"It's Harry Potter but more angsty, and the characters are more douchey and whiney, and Hermoine is Marsha Brady now."

"I love it. But can everyone smoke cigarettes?"

"You read my mind."

It's alright. It certainly doesn't come close to capturing the greatness of the books, which are freaking awesome.

I watched the last episode of season 1 last night. Didn't realize season 2 premiers tonight. It was great trash tv.
