How about this guy? He looked good, at least in the 2nd half at least.

Dude looked bad as a pass rusher in the first half, but he heated up as the game went on.

2 tackles, 1 sack, 1 QB hit, 1 TFL and another pressure in the 2nd half.

Hopefully he builds off of this bc he looked like a good player out there. He bent his body and turned that edge quickly on the sack. He finished the play which is something he didn't do last year.

5 sacks in 7 games started in his career. Maybe he's not a bust?

I really liked the defense swarming around in the second half. Dee had some big plays. Hali has been held and rode to the ground his whole career. Dee looked good second half.

Gaines looked solid in coverage and was really shaky in tackling early on but he got a lot better as the game went on.

Hali coming in made a world of a difference.

I can't wait for Houston to be back as well.

As a unit, the defense got NO PRESSURE on Rivers in the first half. That has to change moving forward.

They were eating us alive with big chunk plays all over, both pass and run.

Watching the replay. Gordon's 2nd TD run where Chris Jones failed to make the tackle.

He missed because the RT had a hand full of his facemask. No penalty called.

I noticed 1 tackle where he knocked the RB forward for a 1st down and then the sack.

I didn't see anything embarrassing.

This guy truly gets more shit than he ever deserved for the amount of playing time that he's gotten. If you can't look at the guy and see top flight talent, you don't know what you're looking at.
Its obvious that he's the type of player that learns by playing.
I can tell by his interviews that he doesnt like practice. He cant get pumped up for it. So he cant develop without playing time.
The minute that he stops having to think while he's playing he's going to be a ****ing monstrousity.

What are you talking about?

Dee Ford isn't dropping into coverage. His position IS playing in space like a LB.

Hali is the guy who plays the rushback position and plays at the LoS most of the time.

Shocking how many people around here don't even know what the positions on the Chiefs are.

I definitely have no complaints about Gaines, he made a couple of tough tackles... the one where he dove through a blocker to make the stop on Gates was particularly sweet

Picked on him for most of the 1st quarter, if not the 1st half

I kept flipping back and forth to other games when we fell so far behind going into second half. Did we EVER start getting pressure up the middle on Rivers? He always stepped up into the pocket and ou outside rushers continued to go wide.

How is that going to happen when your DC doesn't know how to create pressure with scheme?

When he doesn't have ready-made ala Hali/Houston etc he doesn't know what to do. He blitz once in the 1st quarter and got burned. Pretty much was afraid to blitz again until 4th quarter/overtime.
