Am I wrong, or should we be rooting for Alex this year?

So, the Chiefs gave up their 27 this year in round one. And a hypothetically placed round one next year. Plus a third. In this one instance, we need Alex to excel as it lessens the burden on the front office for next years draft. Were the Chiefs to tank, then Buffalo could end up with the number 1 pick next year, and the first pick in the 3rd round. Whereas if the Chiefs win, Buffalo's new picks are late round or worst, 32 overall, and we bitch a little bit less about Mister Smith.

Win Win?

Spoiler!

Rooting for Alex next year is like rooting for a giant Polish food diarrhea shit to not stink.

You can do it, but it's pretty futile.

Alex Smith already ****ing sucks and we went 12-4 with him sucking. I don't see how rooting for him is going to affect our draft fortunes

I concur. With everyone's hate for the green text.

Of course I just double clicked on the body and it highlighted everything, making it easier to read.

I'm definitely rooting to win. With Alex's contract there is no way he is here next year. Hell, if he does good let him earn a contract with someone else. Either way we have a new starter next year.

Why would anybody give us anything for Alex, even if he does have a great season? Everybody knows we aren't going to take that huge cap hit and will likely not pick up that option.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is basically Tamba's and DJ's last chance at winning a SB. So yes, we need to be cheering for Smith. Unless you all are prepared for taking 3rd place in the division for a couple years if you really want to rush Mahomie into action in 2018

Andy Reid looks at FAR more than just wins and losses. It will take super bowl win by Alex to keep his starting job through the end of 2018, if Mahomes has ability. And then I will cry about Alex starting while I enjoy our super bowl win.

So.. yes. I will root for us to be a good team. I will root for the QB, LT, LG, C, RG, RT, WRs, TE, RBs, and the entire defense as well. (screw the punter though.. who is rooting for that guy!!)

Yeah, this too.

How could you root for the Chiefs and NOT root for the guy that touches the ball on literally every offensive play. "That play was good, but it still pisses me off that Alex Smith is the one that handed the ball to Hunt." That is going to get old really quick.

I know.. I know.. it has all already gotten really old really quick on CP. Damn we need training camps to start.

You've got a small percent of the fan base that exists in CP that is just downright bitter, jaded and most of all....pathetic. It has more than just to do with Chiefs football, it's a representation of their personal lives put on show for the rest of the world to see and it's sad.

Jesus Christ, you need to stop this shit.

Big Ben only needed one. Mahomes MIGHT need two, but it's not like if he goes out there in 2018 he's going to look at a football confusedly like it's a ****ing watermelon.

The quarterback class for the 2017 NFL Draft offers some intriguing prospects, but none who have the look of a rookie-ready NFL passer.

That was Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey's bottom-line assessment, per MMQB, after watching the best quarterbacks in the draft compete at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday.

"Me personally? ... No," Dorsey said when asked if he thought Deshaun Watson, DeShone Kizer, and others are NFL-ready.

...

"Are there any finished products here? I don't think so. So where are the warts, and are you willing to live with the warts? That's what people are asking," Dorsey added.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...-ready-to-play

Patience with the new QB sitting and learning is in very short supply on CP, but maybe you can listen to Dorsey's own words.

Tons of teams would LOVE to have a guy like Alex as their QB.

Just look at the league...guys like Mike Glennon are getting 84 million dollar deals. Teams are trading up to take Trubisky. Look at how much guys like Tyros Taylor and Kirk Cousins are getting.
