From a running a team standpoint, what the hell just happened?

A level of incompetence in management whereby Bruce Allen makes--I don't make this multi-sport analogy lightly--Ernie Grunfeld look like Theo Epstein in comparison.

When you unpack the layers of fail in this debacle it will end your fanhood. Don't forget that we're also going to have to let a franchise QB walk for nothing in your calculation. Could have traded him last year and drafted DeShaun Watson. Could have held off on taking a bad deal for Smith to try and tag and trade Kirk this offseason. The Smith trade was an awful desperation move performed so that an unworthy front office might keep their jobs another year.

I've been reading Extreme Skins off and on and I'm starting to feel bad for them. Washington is another Have-Not franchise that's about to enter another few years of the same holding pattern both franchises have been in for decades.

I realize that's the way of the world-**** or be ****ed-but I see a lot of ourselves in them right now.

Good news is we don't need WRs. Alex Smith went a whole year without throwing a TD to one. #CheckdownGod

Oh we are going to hate Smith because of his interception percentage. Trust me on this one.

Smith does not throw the ball into traffic....ever. And he will not throw with a hand in his face.

Smith will take the check down and take the sack on third down every single time over risking the interception. It's not even something he thinks about any longer. It's an instinct like breathing.

On the one hand, we have pretty good receiving running backs, and Jordan Reed should thrive if he stays healthy. On the other, our receivers are not good enough to ever get themselves open to the point that Smith will trust a throw to them. We are going to lead the league in 13 play drives that end in a field goal.

Alex Smith has kept this franchise locked in a basement unable to see anything other than flickering bits of daylight for the past 5 years while he occasionally tucks his junk and asks if we would **** him.

Yesterday, he dragged another poor unsuspecting soul into the basement to give then the Buffalo Bill treatment and we escaped while he was otherwise occupied.

It sucks knowing all the terrible things that he is gonna do to them but after 5 years... better then than us.

It's pretty amazing how Smith makes WRs useless. Hill is the only one that does anything but before him it was pointless for them to be on the field. They didn't matter in SF and he made them not matter here.
