You can't hit him from behind or the side, but the dude was on the ground, you can get in front of him and seal Mahomes off from a blindside shot.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I kinda feel like he decided that Mahomes was going to run and was maybe looking to get downfield and run block for him.

But he had to literally turn away from the guy that smoked Mahomes as he threw. Hate seeing that.

I get it, your job isn't to just chase one dude around, but you have nobody in front of you - peel off and keep your goddamn quarterback from getting hit in the spine. You KNOW he's behind you because he beat you off the line - he's gonna get up, go get some.
That goes for Wylie, too.

Did you notice how PM did the old "look behind me to see if anyone is coming" move? Not the first time he's done it.

Been doing it since at least the pre-season LAST year.

When all the national guys were talking about how amazing it was when he 'looked at the ref before he took off scrambling...' you just wanted to tell them "nah, that's just what he does..."

He wasn't looking for a flag specifically, he was looking behind him to see what was going on. In the process maybe he saw the ref, realized there wasn't a flag and considered that in his decision-making, but when Mahomes is scrambling right like that he often gives a little look over his shoulder just to make sure someone isn't getting ready to kill him.

Dude's a savant.

Once you go Pat....
I was thinking about this just the other day.

It's hard even watching most other NFL games right now because of how quickly Pat has spoiled us watching him play.

Its gonna be difficult to transition to life after Pat here in KC.

The good news is if I follow the men on my Mom's side of the family - I'll be 65 and dementia will be setting in - so I won't know any better.

Lamar vs Mahomes is going to be a sweet rivalry to watch for the next decade or so.

That's as close to Lamar as I want him to be. Just that average hit he took after he threw the ball made me poop in my pants.
