Keller and Junis are out, that's life with COVID.. but if Matheny is really all-in on analytics we'll probably see games with the "opener" like the Rays do.

If Matheny is into analytics, he should realize this team as zero shot at winning anything in the playoffs and we should instead tank and trade players away, it's not like it's costing the Royals any fan attendance this year.

Bolanos has a big arm. Error in the 1st hurt him but his stuff is good. Think that’s a useful relief arm eventually.

Nice to see Mondesi get a hit. The Indians always pitch him really well.

SOME reports.

Others had him with a floor of back-end starter and #3 upside if he could fix his issues with LH hitters.

I talked about it in yesterday’s thread but after seeing him:

He has really good fastball COMMAND to both sides of the plate. His 2-seam FB was a weapon to the inside corner against lefties and he buried his slider effectively against them down and in.

The slider was better than I expected. If he brings that combo of FB command and slider consistently, he is going to be really good.

Not sure Staumont had total control of the curve ball there but his stuff was nasty. Out there hitting 100 on the gun.
