Different way of Looking at the SB and Brady

Look I'm ok with getting roasted for this take and I'm cool with it but a few things I had to put into perspective with the game.

1) Lets say you just switch QB's for that game and everything else is the same. What is the score? Bucs 49 Chiefs 0? or 3? Brady did nothing great, just did what he needed to do and their running game was very good and they won. Brady won the game but it wasn't because he was amazing at what he did, just managed enough and we sucked enough ( plus the fun calls from the refs) to not win.

2) Brady because of his Hardware is considered the GOAT by most but I still struggle to see what he does that is so amazing? I mean he is competitive, almost a competitive prick which is good, you could say he is a good leader, but watching him play football is just like watching snow melt, he NEVER does anything that makes your jaw drop. In NE he has been apart of a team that had amazing defenses and last night was the same.

You could have put about 20 QB's on Tampa's team last night and won the game if we only score 9 points, Brady was just one of many that would have won that game.

Brady is a good QB but not amazing, nothing about him screams greatness except his rings and that may be enough for most people. For me it wasn't even close, the MVP was the Buc's Defensive line and it wasn't even close.

For me Jordan is the best ever but if it was just rings alone then Bill Russell is the best.

I give Brady his due much a lot of his "greatness" comes from being on the right team at the right time.

If I started a team right now with any QB to pick when they started their career I think Brady would be in the 20-25 range ranking from 1-50 all time.

Brady is a 85-89% QB, a solid B+ but he has never been nor will ever be elite.

I know you can say this about any QB but if he was drafted by the Bungels or the Lions, or Browns etc he would of been out of the league a LONG time ago.

Brady is good but he was not the True MVP nor the GOAT, if anything he is just the GOAT of superbowl rings but not of ability.
So in your definition, what separates a very good QB to a GOAT QB? What is their #1 job?

I always hated Peyton for the ref help he got on stacked teams. Brady is no better. The media acts like he's LeBron when he's really a Steve Nash at best.
He’s never been physically gifted like those guys. It’s why he was a 6th rounder. Through hard work and determination he made himself great. There’s a lot to admire there.

He’s won more titles than any other QB because of his longitivtiy. He’s rarely been hurt which is amazing.

Put Brady behind the Chiefs offensive line last night and I am pretty sure he would be in a full body cast today.

All the TB12 steroids cannot blunt the pain from getting brutalized by Andrew Wylie’s man all night long.

Is the purpose of the NFL to win the SB or to find the most impressive QB performance?

Tom Brady is the GOAT of picking the right team. He knew NE was done and moved on. He made the throws he needed to and knows how to get the PI calls and get in guys heads. He was the one who ran up to Mathieu and started jawing after the TD and goaded him into getting a personal foul. Has Brady ever gotten blown out in a SB?

I love Mahomes, but I think Romo was right. This was his chance to take the throne and it slipped away. Regardless of the bad calls and decimated OL, Mahomes didn’t even get a single TD. We weren’t even competitive. History won’t consider any of the extenuating circumstances. Only that Brady beat Mahomes handily when Brady was an old man and Mahomes was in his prime. I hate it, but that’ll be the narrative for the rest of his career.

That seems a little over the top.

Mahomes hasn't hit his prime, and Brady's not an old man.

Sometimes a QB needs to put up a shitload of points to win

Sometimes a QB needs to put their ego in check and manage the game

The greats find a way to do both at the same time.

Right. Third year as a starter and 25 years old. His prime is probably 2 to 3 years away from beginning.

Mahomes needs to stay healthy, be surrounded by quality coaching and talent.

If that has that he'll be a HOFer

I believe most of the OP post except the put any QB last night and would have done the same.

I don't believe they would have recognized the defense and hit the open guy like Tom. It does help to have clean pockets he didn't even have to move. His interview on the field helmet off looked like he showered and blow dryed didn't break a sweat.

We can try to minimize who he is and what he has done but I don't buy it. If it makes some feel better drinking their beer and whiskey saying "woulda coulda shoulda" then I don't know what to say. He is the GOAT at this time hands down.

One thing that stood out last night to me was what I saw after the game. Every single teammate of Bradys that walked up and gave him a hug said, "Thank you". I don't think they were thanking him for being an average QB on a stacked team. I think Brady elevated the entire franchise walking into the building secondary to his history of accomplishments and likely his work ethic on and off the field that none of us can see or witness. Thats my guess.

That's a fair point, but then I think of someone like Philip Rivers, who wasn't exactly a freak athlete himself, and he was still never as boring to watch or as soft as Brady. There's just no grit to Brady's game. It's all dink and dunks, and when adversity strikes, he usually gets bailed out by the refs.
