The cap hit should never have been that high this year in the first place. Think it happened due to Mahomes needing the cash injection.

I don’t think it gives him more guaranteed money. He already had $210M total or $52M per year guaranteed for 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 seasons combined. They’re just playing games with the salary cap like we see with other teams as well.
