USA vs Mexico | World Cup Qulifier | Estadio Azteca | 9:30ct
USA vs Mexico at 9:30 on ESPN. Coverage starts an hour before.

Huge game...odds are stacked against the USMNT but they have a lot of momentum whereas Mexico has been sputtering in the Hex. Two Kansas City players representing the US tonight as Graham Zusi is a probably starter in midfield and it even looks like Matt Besler could possibly start at CB.

Any KC'ers want to get in on a watch party Johnny's Tavern (downtown) will be full with US fans and the American Outlaws tonight.

It is a reactionary thing. Away support in the game is unique because they are all grouped together. When you have a large group of opposing fans then it is natural they get grief from the whole team and then it is natural you want to give it back.

Been a part of it on a smaller scale in road MLS games...about 450 KC fans in Chicago for games...large amounts in Columbus and Houston...we even had 120 in Philly for opening day. Each time security guards lined up to keep the peace.

Gotta say though it is a total blast.

I've never been in a big group like that before but I can see how mob mentality takes over. Someday when my finances settle down I'd like to take some trips for SKC games in Philly (next year obviously) or Columbus.
