I was not taking a shot at KU. Mizzou recently had a hideous track around the field. I wanted to know if the new field was going to have one or not.

Best guesses for the B1G would be North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Syracuse. For the SEC, VA Tech and NC State. |

I don't like Skittles, so they'd last pretty much forever. Unless some douchebag B1G fans took them when I wasn't looking.

If the former, I'd stop at 16 for the SEC and 12 for the Big 12. If you think Notre Dame will go to the Big 12, feel free to take them to 16 also. The B1G and the PAC 12 have no reason to, and will most likely not, expand beyond 12, especially the PAC 12. No one can, or will attempt to, pressure them to add schools they don't want to add when those schools will cost, rather than gain, them money, and they'll still both have to have an equal seat at the table. A 16-team conference wants to complain that its easier to win a 12-team conference? Too bad, they didn't have to expand to 16.

UNC and VPI to the SEC. FSU and Clemson to the Big 12. The new playoff system gives a theoretical path for all schools, so Notre Dame decides to stay independent. B1G stays at 12 for the foreseeable future (ie at least the next 10 years). PAC 12 sure as hell stays at 12, not just for the foreseeable future, but maybe for the next 2 generations or more.

When I started screwing with this I failed to consider academics in the equation. I think that's a primary motivator with the PAC and BIG. With knowing as much as everyone else does about the scenario, it doesn't seem too out of the question for FSU and Clemson to peace out of the ACC. If you all would kindly accept this premise, banter with me on this notion. Big12 doesn't appear to care about athletics, and I think they need to keep pace with the SEC and go to 14 members. Also, with WVU already in and with the Seminoles and Tigers hypothetically joining too, two more teams should come from the East where the population is more or less increasing in value, then Georgia Tech and Miami coming to the Big XII makes some logical sense. Travel only becomes an issue with the three remaining Big XII North schools which softens things for 'Olympic Sports'. Is it a stretch for the Big XII to add Georgia Tech and Miami if Florida State and Clemson go first?

I think the Big 12 expands beyond 12 ONLY if Notre Dame agrees to be a full member in 2016 when their NBC contract runs out. If that happens, Notre Dame will be able to drag in at least one rival, which would probably be Pitt. (WVU is a rival of sorts with Pitt too, so that works)
If you are going to 14, you may as well go to 16 because 14 is awkward as hell to schedule. I think the NCAA is going to lay waste to Miami, and they'll be a smoking crater by this time next year. Miami seems to be on a steep decline in athletics anyway and I've read they don't draw well anymore at the stadium. So, no to Miami. I believe UNC and VPI goes to the SEC, so: out of whats left, I'd say Georgia Tech and Louisville. If one of those 3 schools (after ND) aren't in for whatever reason, maybe a school like Maryland or Virginia could get in there. (not Rutgers)
