"Chuck" on NBC

Is anyone else totally digging this show? Perfect blend of comedy, *light* drama, and storytelling.

Captain Awesome is my favorite character

according to that Chuck has been renewed. From what i gathered, this source is rock solid and is hardly ever wrong. So, i guess this is good.

Life is the one that's sticking in my craw. If it's not renewed, well I'm already not going to ever ever ever watch Leno, but I may boycott the L&O franchise as well.
There's no justification for 5 hours of Leno and 3 of L&O out of 30 available and letting a quality show like Life die.

Chuck, I'd be surprised, dunno if I'd be angry. It was fun, but could be uneven, and it told it's story sufficiently to end if necessary.

I'm with you on "Life."
It really has an arc that has built like I haven't seen before. Even after missing season 1, after the first episode I was hooked. Great story, great acting, and GREAT music. Sarah Shahi doesn't hurt, either.

According to Ausiello, and reportedly straight from the VP of NBC production's mouth at upfronts, Life is dead.

In related news, all the L&O iterations just came off my DVR. I'm a little wistful about the original, but it's probably for the best with SVU. They have the best cast, but the Bill and Melinda Gates 'After School special' initiative have turned that show into a big bowl of WTF. It's not just strident, it's strident and stupid. It's turned into the kind of procedural being mocked in Losing Sarah Marshal.

Now, my sights are set on Flashpoint. Last I heard I may have to rely on the Canadian intertubes, as they are going to cancel it here, but continue to make and air new episodes for the Canadian markets. Catlatoni deserves an emmy for his yeoman's work.

Though last Friday's episode really showed it's roots when the kid told his dad that the gunman 'just wanted me to say I'm sewwwry'

Agreed. 5 hours of Leno is 5 hours too much for me. I have never thought the guy was funny. L&O should be cut back to one or two shows and combine the casts maybe. Personally, I only watch SVU and that one is getting old. If they get rid of two of the main people I will quit watching it as well and be down to only Friday Night Lights and The Office if Chuck is gone. We loved Life and are pissed it was cancelled.

Renewed! Apparently, only 13 episodes as of now, and at a reduced budget, but it survived!

The bit about significant budget cuts is pretty shitty but still better than no Chuck at all.

Getting rid of the Buy More could be a way to make the eps cheaper.

A little more information from here: http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/05/...ficial-nb.html

NBC has finalized a deal to bring Chuck back for a third season, multiple sources confirm.

That's the good news. Here's the bad news: The 13-episode pickup came after Warner Bros. agreed to make significant budget concessions, including scaling back the number of episodes several members of the show's stellar supporting cast will appear in and, per one insider, possibly eliminating one actor altogether (R.I.P. Anna Wu?). The show is also expected to cut two of its staff writers.
I could definitely see the Buy More having a reduced role, and maybe Ellie/Awesome, too. Both would suck, but I'll take what I can get at this point...

Buy More is a big part of the show but it would definitely save them money to not have it.
