I did some WSOP work a few weeks back and I really could have used the Tamron 70-200. Looks to be a pretty sturdy beast. I was considering Canon 70-200 f4, just for the weather sealing. Shooting 7D and only third party, can't afford L.

I don't know if it matters but I work for Olympus. They have some really good Black Friday deals. I have the E-PM2 but I would love the OMD-E-M5. I really like my Pen camera as it's more than just a point and click but not full on professional OMD series.

OK, so I'm trying to decide between two lenses. This will be the lens I want to keep on my 50D most of the time.
Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM -or- Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Right now I keep the kit lens that came with my 20D on most of the time - 18-55m f/who-knows-what. |

I've never used the 24, but the Thrifty Fifty is a nice prime. If you've got the cash, build quality and f on the 1.4 are better than the 1.8.

So just general opinions...
Here's what's in my bag: Canon 6D Canon 50mm f/1.4 Canon 28-70mm f/2.8L Tokina AT-X 16-28mm f/2.8 Pro FX Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 (shitty, shitty lens; never use it, gonna sell it for a bag of Cheetos) Canon 35-80mm f/4.0-5.6 (crappy, old kit lens; gonna sell it for a Diet Mt. Dew to go with the Cheetos) Set of Xit XTETC AF macro extension tubes I'm looking at getting a 70-200, but having trouble deciding... To replace 70-300: Canon 70-200mm f/4L USM ($709) or Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1299) or Canon 70-200 f/2.8L USM ($1449) or Tamron 70-200MM F/2.8 DI VC USD ($1499) I shoot mostly portrait, wildlife, and macro, and with full frame camera, I find most of my portraits need to be f/4 or higher anyway to get enough of the face in sharp focus. I dig Tamron. I keep the 17-50 VC on my 7D and it is soft in the corners for still photos, but very good for video, which is what I use it for.

Does anyone know a youngster interested in learning more about photography? I have an older model Digital Rebel XT (8MP) I'd be willing to donate. It's got a kit lens, batteries, charger, and a vertical grip. It's not awesome, but it would be a good starter rig for someone new to non-point-and-shoot photography.

I don't have a need FMB, but that's awesome for you to offer it to folks.
That being said, the Nikon that sends directly to the phone is cool... |
