Honestly, how does Porter fit into Self's Hi-Lo? Seems like Self prefers traditional post players like Aldrich and the Morris twins rather than a thinner guy like Porter that excels on the perimeter and mid-range.

right now, i just think mizzou could use a coach which would be happy and loyal here, one that plans on being here for a long time...

Does it matter?

Self would sign the guy if he could to guarantee he wouldn't give the new coach at MU a chance.

I get that sentiment.

But we don't want to turn into the spurned boyfriend whose hot girlfriend of five years dumped him, so now he's going hoggin' to find a fat girl that will love him and won't leave.

That is only one part of his offense. He actually adapts his playing style to his talent.

How many years do you think a coach should give to MU to be "loyal"?

If Huggs would have given KSU 4 years, that's all I expected. If Franks stays another 2 I'll be surprised. He's done more than I ever asked or expected.

As far as I'm concerned loyalty isn't something you can expect. A time frame is what you can expect.

I highly doubt KU would recruit Porter to keep him from MU. It's freaking Kansas, you can recruit about anyone you want. If he fits into Self's doctrine, sure. But, recruiting him to "keep him from MU" is just silly.

The thing I'm hearing about Porter is his Mom wants him to attend MU and thus far is refusing to sign any LOI unless its for MU.

(BTW, unless the kid is over 21, the parent/guardian must also sign the LOI.
