Palko told he is starting in Chicago.

Todd Haley = massive buffoon.

I hope we can all move on from supporting this clown now.

Clay, you think many coaches could win with the roster we have this year led by the qb we have ran out there.

Here is what I think: Todd Haley will never be an NFL head coach ever again and no one will care.

Just watch the Pittsburgh game again to see our kids really playing well.

This is once they have gotten up to speed, who knows how much better they would be at this point with a full offseason under their belt.
You can't ignore his first year which was a huge failure and Haley has been right there with him playing Matt Cassel. For whatever reason both thought Palko was a serviceable backup. You can't over look the talented OC's Haley has ran out of town or the type of training camp he ran this season which really set the tone early on. The fact that this team couldn't muster up a touchdown in a month or score one this last week that was missing one of its best pass rushers & it's best player really says a lot.

Im OK either way. The way Haley has handled the quarterback position the last couple weeks has me in awe...and before that is misinterpreted, I mean awe in a bad way.

No new coach is gonna want to take over a team as talented as this one with Cassel and Orton as the returning starting quarterback competition.

If Haley is fired, we have a really good chance at drafting a first round quarterback.

The only part of Haley losing his job that genuinely scares me is the Josh McDaniels angle of salvaging Cassel and Piolis rep.

yeah, it says that both Cassel and Palko are hot garbage.

No surprise there.

...

Let me ask you the end all be all of this conversation:

Do you think this team could contend for the AFC next year with a legit quarterback?

I do.

No. I think we'll draft Barkley or Griffin (atleast we should) but will either keep Cassel or Orton and will try our best to go 9-7.

Completely disagree.

We had cornerstone players: RB, WR, LT, 2 LBs, 2 CBs, etc. Now, one could argue that Haley maximized the talent from these players, but it's disingenuous IMO to claim that the roster was devoid of talent.

Depth is an issue with all NFL teams; front-line talent trumps, and ours had a great deal of promise.

If we draft a qb in the top 5, they should start from day 1 IMO. Look at recent success of first round qbs.

If we get everyone back healthy next year and get a qb we should contend for the division. AFC? I dunno bout that. However the powers of the AFC seem to be shifting away from PITT and BALT. THey are still good teams but not powers.

Agree. However Charles was a little unknown in 08.

I'd argue that we have as much front line talent as anyone in the NFL. We are lacking at 1 position and depth.

The argument is that you can't replace forty players in three off-seasons, one with the lame-duck scouting staff.
