The MIA Heat Show Thread

LA will be dethroned. The LAC Lake Show will be dead. So it's time to create a thread to follow the new dynasty.

Going on tour starting this October.

And I agree about LeBron chickening out of being the man. He could've made his own legacy if he went to any of the other five teams, IMO, but he chose to piggy back his way to a championship (if he ever wins it). I didn't fully realize until after the chaos of where he was going to sign how much of a douche he really is. Like everyone else, I hope he fails. I like D-Wade, but I don't want LeBron winning a title. LeBron made Kobe look like a humble, down to earth guy. I'm still kind of wowed by it.
Sour grapes. If he went to Chicago you'd be singing his praises.

Why isn't the real reason that LeBron went to Miami being reported? Clearly the prospect of playing for the preferred team of the awesome DaKCMan AP was too good to pass up.

I think it was because he has two black friends that play on the team. I would think your ability to create something out of nothing would lead you to be outraged!!! He must be a racist!!! less has lead you to crusade in the past. I bet he hates blue people too~

I didn't think that anyone really considered LeBron, Bosh, and Wade all playing for Miami, because no one thought they'd sign less than max deals.

That said, the way this was orchestrated and the way it played out made it pretty clear where LeBron stands on the hierarchy here.

When Pat Riley is telling him he can be Magic and be the facilitator, that says all you need to know.

He should have the ball in his hand, but he shouldn't be looking for Donyell Marshall on the wing. That aside, it appears that's what he wants to do.

Its not even close.
The Lakers are going to have trouble getting past the Thunder this next season, who are very deep in the front court and added the missing shot blocker/rebounder they needed in Aldrich. They are still very young as a team, but they are deep and talented at all positions. If they can put it together, they will be tough to beat.

LAS VEGAS – The Mavericks are close to signing former San Antonio Spurs center Ian Mahinmi, NBA sources said Sunday.

Mahinmi (6-11) played 26 games for the Spurs last season and is an unrestricted free agent. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in six minutes per game last season. Several NBA sources said the 25-year-old Frenchman is ready to make a significant improvement moving forward.

The Mavericks signed center Brendan Haywood to a six-year deal last week, but Erick Dampier is on a non-guaranteed contract. Dampier is likely to be either traded or waived before the Mavericks would have to pay the $13 million for the final year of his deal.

If the Mavericks secure Mahinmi, who would at the very most require the bi-annual exception of about $1.9 million, it could be a sign that Dampier no longer is in the team's plans.

Mahinmi was the 28th overall pick in the 2005 draft but did not get to the Spurs organization until 2007.

He played 46 games in the NBA Development League in 2007-08 and averaged 17 points and eight rebounds. He missed virtually all of the 2008-09 season with a right ankle injury.

It would be HUGE for the Heat if Dampier is waived. He'd be a great option at C.

Which is who LeBron was really compared to when he came into the league. The Jordan comparisons were just bullshit to begin with. He is more natural in a Magic Johnson role.

I still prefer to see Shaq go down there. That way he can exit with an NBA title and asking Kobe one more time how his ass taste.

Shaq left Miami on bad terms and burned bridges. Screw him. Both DWade and Bron have had the chance to play with him and I doubt they want to do it again.
