I don't know what you know, but that's precisely what I'd be telling Big Fats. He was abysmal all season and josh should've gotten ALL his at bats. To this day ill never understand why they went with Fats when they tried benching him after getting Josh anyway

Somehow I never heard about this before until now, but there's something called the "Major League Baseball Japan All-Star Series" that will be played in Japan in a couple weeks. Not sure if it'll be televised at all here, but I assume its popular in Japan. (Probably not televised in the US, because the games would start at like 3AM our time)
Its a best of 5 between an all-star MLB team vs some of the best players from Japan. (It might not be the best MLB players, just the best MLB players who decide that a free Japanese vacation would be fun and agree to show up) Some of the highest-profile stars on the team are Cano, Longoria, and Puig. Anyway, 3 Royals are on the MLB roster: Salvy, Escobeef, and Guthrie. Salvador Perez is the only catcher listed on the MLB roster, so I assume he'll start every game for the MLB team. The series is played November 12-18 edit: OK, so this is the first time MLB did this since 2006, which is why I never heard about it before.

1. Keep HDH on this roster. This isn't even debatable. If this team is structured to play small ball, then they're crucial in minimizing the game and slamming the door shut once/if this team gets a lead.
2. Only reason to re-sign Butler if it's for a hometown bargain. If he's not willing to take that then good riddance. 3. Let Shields walk. Yordano Ventura and Danny Duffy are going to be this team's 1 and 2 and I think they'll be fine. However this team does need to find another starter via FA. I don't think Finnegan or Zimmer are quite ready to start yet. I'd put them both in the pen...have Finnegan come in before HDH....Zimmer can be a long reliever til he's starter ready. 4. Don't even think about re-signing Hochevar. Guy's damaged goods now after 1 good year after being this franchise's sacrificial goat for multiple seasons. I'm just ready to be done w/ this guy. I didn't agree w/ signing him to a 1 yr deal last season for the amt they paid him, regardless of the success he had in the bullpen. His arm is shot now. Cut ties and don't look back. 5. Need a RF bat. Could use another IF bat too. I do think this postseason run is going to amp up these players and it gave them confidence in their ability and I think they'll come back even better next season because once you've had a taste of the success, you want more of it...and they were so close they're going to be hungry to get back to that level...they have to beat a healthy DET pitching staff though.

Cruz said he would like to stay in Baltimore, he was awesome during the regular season, but the post season we stuffed him good. Not sure Hunter can duplicate another solid season with his age. You have to play him and not split his AB's up but for what price ? Alex Rios ? At what price and can he find that pop he has lost ? No need to to go Gattis when we have Pena coming up! Mike Morse is still living off of 1 very good season in 2011, 31 dingers and basically done diddly shit since. I would rather see us give Willingham an option for 1 year in RF. At least he has a better track record to show some consistency. You can still keep a cheap Dyson around to platoon now and then, PR when needed. |

Zimmer and Finnegan are going to learn to be starters in the minors. They'll need to be ready if someone gets hurt during the course of the year. |

Yep, Zim is on the mend. Both he and Fin will probably start off in NW Ark, Royals Double A and then move up to Omaha as needed or their season progresses. They both need plenty of starts and proof of quality starts.

Give up a pick for him? Uh, no.
And, yes, I'd absolutely bring back Hooch. He'll be on the DL for a bit, but he'll likely be an asset down the road.

Not that a sample size this small means anything, but he was worse in the playoffs than the regular season. He went .262/.327/.333
