You can't change public perception whatever you do. We could win every championship and then they'd call us cheaters or some such shit.

Using anything the media says about anything carries no basis in reality.

For those operating in reality (which apparently is very few people) Self has had a comparable record of ANY coach out there. While a couple guys have gotten to the end more often, Self hasn't had the lows the others have. Kazoo, Calipari, and Roy have all missed the tournament since Self arrived at KU. I think the lowest Self has ever been seeded was one of his first 2 years. That's a pretty incredible run of consistency which the other guys that are supposedly better can't match.

We are in Kansas. We are never going to be a media darling. Ever. Don't worry about it. But also approach the Self deal with some rational thinking.

I’m glad you posted this. I think Roy has 8 wins in the EE, but I was wondering how Roy/Self matched up against other coaches. Like I said before, it’s amazing that Self/Roy/Calipari are sitting at 50%+ of the time, they are playing to go to the Final Four.

The difference between the 3 is that Roy & Calipari are 5-3 in EE games; Self is 2-5.

I'm pretty sure that isn't updated with this season's point total for Frank. He has 1800 some points in his career.

If you gave Steve Prohm the next 14 years at KU, how many FF would he get? (You can sub in Scott Drew or Brad Underwood or Jamie Dixon whoever)

Dixon is the best of the bunch. He'd probably land one anyway.

Scott Drew is horrible. The ghost of Bill Self in AFH would prevent Drew from winning a single game in AFH.

I haven't watched Underwood much outside of OSU, so I can't really comment too much, but I can't say I saw anything that would lead me to believe he is more than just a dude.

Prohm isn't as good as Hoiberg, so I'd go with none. Rusty will back me up on that. He'll be along to tell you all how ISU is the superior program and ISU is the pinnacle of college ball.

Look what happened to Alabama between Bear Bryant and Nick Saban.

Look at what happened at Ohio State and Michigan before Meyer and Harbaugh.

Look at what happened to USC post-Pete Carroll.

Look what happened to UK with Billie Gillespie (who ran a pretty dang good ship at TAM so it's not like he's a shit coach)

Look at what happened to UNC under Matt Dhorety (I think he gets a bad rap, but those guys thought it was a catastrophe)

Look at what happened to UCLA post-Wooden.

Look at what happened at Indiana post Knight.

The thing about blue blood is you can attract a great coach. But you have to do it. Hiring a shitterrible coach won't do anybody any good.
