None of that excuses Green's ineptitude in the RZ or in the two minute drill. If he had the 85 Bears D he still sucked in the clutch.

It didn't help either that when we were hitting our stride that we always ran into a Colts team with Peyton Manning that was just entering his prime. |

I went to Chiefs games when my dad and I sat in the upper endzone and the only other people within 3 sections of us was the upper endzone camera man. Having been there in the 70s, I know what failure looks like......and it does not look like 6 probowlers, a pretty good head coach, and a GM who knows football talent. Not even close.
However, if not exactly the same, failure is a mighty close relative of last year's QB play, head coach, offensive coordinator, GM, etc, etc, etc. |

Keep in mind, if you have confidence in your defense as a QB, you don't need to "press" as much. |

Bull ass. IIRC, Harbaugh had Kaep as his #1 rated QB in that draft. But he knew he could get him by trading up in the second.

Green was a good QB, but he also failed this team multiple times. History actually helps and hurts him. We give him a free pass while others criticize him too much for the D. Between the 20s he was a top 5 QB, but the game isn't just played there.

Shit, he's sucked worse before. It's not like he has accuracy past 15 yards, or an elite arm, or some kind of wunderkind ability to read defenses and anticipate. He's Ho-Hum Mother****er the IV.

Nice to see we came come full circle and we are back to the Trent Green bullshit comparisons.
Alex Smith has had 3 300 yard games. Trent Green has a ****ton. It's a shitty trade that hopefully falls flat on it's face sooner rather than later. |

When has trading for a game manager QB ever resulted in something good? When? I'll stop being a sourpuss if we grab a young QB to kick this asshole off the roster. Until then, this is the pits. **** Alex Shit.

Matt Moore = Alex Smith??? I'm not happy about giving up a couple of 2s for Smith, but Moore? Really? Surely you jest.
BTW, I thought Trent Green was a very good QB. The first year he was here his receivers were awful. I remember time and again when he'd throw it to a spot and the receiver would break the other way. Then, as they were trotting off the field Green would calmly go over to the receiver and have a quick session of the play - my bet was that Green was correct and that Snoop Minnis (or some other such lackluster receiver) was probably not. Anyway, Green took the heat, but in my view, he had one horrid receiving crew that first year. |
