No, they weren't.

Magic was never 1/10 the scorer that LeBron was. He could never impose his will on a game and physically overpower it like LeBron could.

LeBron was a mixture of Jordan and Magic, he was never either/or.

Being a Magic Johnson type is fine, but LeBron had a lot more talent to set that kind of bar.

The bar was GOAT. He should reach it. But he doesn't have the desire or the killer instinct to do so

As a rookie in the Finals Magic scored 45 in game 6...while still having 15 boards and 7 assists.

While playing CENTER

Magic could score from any of the five spots, but the team was better when he was a distributor of the rock rather than a scorer.

I agree with the rest of that post though.

One of the greatest myths in NBA history is that Magic played center for the duration of that game. It's not true.

He played the majority of the game at point.

Magic could have certainly averaged 25-30 points a season if he wanted too. That wasnt what he liked to do though. Plus all that talent, he didnt have too. lol

Not really. He was best in the role that he played, and he's probably the greatest point guard of all time, but LeBron should be better than that.

Magic scored most of his points from within a few feet of the rim. He was never a great jump shooter. Once Kareem declined, and couldn't command the double team, his shooting percentages dropped off precipitously. He was still a good enough PG to get a lot of easy buckets in transition, but he was never going to be able to consistently overpower teams the way that Kobe, Jordan, or LeBron could.

...and yet his shooting percentages after Kareem was done were still higher than what Lebron has put up as a pro.

The Laker teams just had better complimentary scorers so his job was to distribute that rock more than to score with it himself.

Haslem turned down basically 15 million to re-sign with the Heat. I can handle if the other 3 douches take less with max deals, but when a guy turns down 15 that really hasn't made a whole lot in his career, something stinks.

It wouldn't surprise me if that complete POS Riley has a side deal with UD to pay him next year.

No role player turns down that kind of money when good teams offered it.

He's doing it with the franchise that gave him a chance and in his hometown. He doesn't want to leave Miami. This isn't the first time he's turned down more money to stay with the Heat. He did it in 2005.

Magic also had better players around him. Not taking anything away from him. Magic was a phenomenal player, but other teams just need to shut down James to beat the Cavs. With that being said, Magic is still a better shooter. James has such a high FG% because he does so much damage at the rim.

Actually, everyone the Heat has signed has taken less money. Wade, Bosh, LeBron, Mike Miller, and Udonis Haslem ALL took less money to play for the Heat.
