Clark Hunt met with Marty?

http://www.kctv5.com/story/20058706/...schottenheimer

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Chiefs fans are excitedly buzzing about whether team owner Clark Hunt is preparing to offer former coach Marty Schottenheimer the general manager position or get his help on reversing the team's declining fortunes.

SiriusXM NFL Radio reported that Schottenheimer was at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday to meet with Hunt, who is in Kansas City. This set Chiefs fans on Twitter and Facebook afire.

The team flatly denies that Schottenheimer was at the practice facility today.

However, left unclear was whether Schottenheimer and Hunt met at a different location, met earlier this week or whether they have a meeting later this week.

General Manager Scott Pioli is under fire after the Chiefs 1-7 start and a disappointing four-year tenure in Kansas City after he left the New England Patriots.

Tell us what you think. Should the Chiefs bring back "Martyball" or hire Schottenheimer as a consultant? Go to

There was absolutely no reason to give him one more year. Yes, Herm was a perfect coach to begin a rebuild with, but his fail would have soon infected the young talent. Thus, replacing him was absolutely the right move.

What we didn't know, however, is that in avoiding cancer we contracted AIDS.

Herm did enough stupid shit on game day to deserve being fired. Any person with a pulse should of fired Herm after his first season...

Actually anyone with an IQ above -5 wouldnt of hired the loser in the first place...

I dont give a shit what he did, he wasted 4 seasons of my fanhood.

Herms time in KC was OVER.

The team went from 9 wins...to 4...to 2.

Anybody giving those results another year should be taken out back and shot.

You got that right... Not even a College or High School coach would make the stupid decisions that asshat made.

Yes it is pure hatrid. I hated that SOB in NY and damn sure didnt want him to come and infect stupid into my favorite franchise... YET we hired the loser.

We gave up a 4th round pick for the right to hire that useless ****.

I almost lost it that day.

Herm took a sledgehammer to the 2008 team. It was the right thing to do, and most coaches wouldn't have had the balls to do it. I can't imagine Herm would have done that if he didn't have assurance from Clark Hunt that he wouldn't be blamed for a losing season. And I sensed that Chunt felt really bad about letting him go and fought to keep him.

Replacing him was a fine move because it had to happen anyway. I wanted it to happen after 2009. I don't care that he was fired, but I do feel for him. He got fired because he got blamed for a losing season that happened because he did the right thing.

Revisionist history after the golden years 1999-2002, and my lack of coming up with proper search terms to find the exact articles. But there definitely was a meeting between players and non-DV front office about a change in approach, followed by a sitdown between said FO and DV where they laid down the law.

Wow, what incredible senses you have.

I mean, it was never reported that Scott Pioli essentially gave Herman Edwards an extended interview process at the request of Hunt.

You're like some kind of savant.

Idiot.

I have said over and over again that he's not a good coach. I was the only one (besides Mecca, incidentally) that was applauding his decision to blow up the team and that his talent eval was getting the team on the right track.

Right.

He should have been fired when Trent Green was lost to injury, which left him with Damon Huard as the only option, only to lose ONE more game tha Vermeil did the previous year and lead the Chiefs back to the playoffs.

You're criminally stupid.

If ANY coached deserved to be fired after his first season, it was Todd ****ing Haley but you'd never call for his head because he was WHITE.

The stupid decision would have been to let Carl Peterson continue to bandaid this team with napoleon Harrises and Damion McIntosh. Herm made bold moves, and most of them were made over Peterson's head.

I've always said... he wasn't the coach we wanted for the long haul. But how can anyone deny that he played a big part in moving this team in the right direction, even if he was a shitty coach on the playing field?
