Football Is Aaron Rodgers GROSSLY overrated? - Page 23

I watched the entire GB/Det game and I must say...Rodgers has not gotten better at getting rid of the ball. He's got a lot of Alex Smith in him in that regard. He takes a TON of unnecessary sacks. It's bothersome. He also missed a wide open Jordy Nelson when trying to come back on 4th and 5 with a terrible pass 3 yards behind him in a clean pocket...

He's had 1 good playoff run. So has Joe Flacco.

Why does everyone think he's the best QB in the NFL?

I think he's top 5, certainly. But I also don't understand how Tony Romo is a choker, but Aaron Rodgers is not?

I have been grossly unimpressed with Rodgers this year...and in all honesty, the last few postseasons...super meh.

I've said this for a few years now, but...I'd take Russell Wilson over Aaron Rodgers and at this point, I don't even think it's close.

Also, Rodgers is nowhere near Peyton Manning (obvi) or IN HIS PRIME Tom Brady, let's be honest.

Saying you would take a Russell Wilson over A Rod "and it isn't even close" is one.

Also saying Russell Wilson would be regarded as the number 1 QB by this time this year is another.

Well, I disagree. Let's see what happens in the playoffs. Russell has been great again this year. Aaron has two straight postseason losses to Colin Kaepernick in the first round, let's not forget.

Why the double standard for Peyton on this website if postseason apparently doesn't matter?

this thread was made before the season after the article linked in the OP had some damning stats about Rodgers and his success in close games.

Rodgers has been excellent this year. If he has another deep playoff run and maybe wins another Super Bowl, then all of the doubts will be erased.

It's not like I was the only one who had questions about Aaron Rodgers before the season. Obviously, he looks the part. Always has, always will. Colin Cowherd mentioned the same thing before the season. He has been terrible in close games for years now. Lost two straight playoff games to Kaepernick.

I guess I just don't get why guys like Brady and Rodgers get every excuse but Manning is a huge choker if he simply throws an incompletion, or loses a playoff game 35-38.

I was actually one of the few to agree with you about a Russell Wilson at this time last year.

Still, I think it has more to do with how you said it- and everything you say. "This is the way I see it and anyone who disagrees is wrong".

Maybe. Rodgers certainly has mastered the regular season a la Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Time for him to win another postseason game, now. Or at least play well like he did his first playoff game when he lost to Kurt Warner. He played better in that loss than any qb I've seen in a playoff game in a long time
