To be honest here, so did Gordon. He really needs to find his groove all over again. IMHO, there wasn't no consistency, he was a streaky hitter and showed he was more vulnerable vs lefties this year than years past. |

I do wonder how they'll stretch him out for starting, but I think they figure it out while he's on the MLB club. Total speculation on my part, just seems strange to have him go against lower leagues after the stellar postseason experience.

Colby Rasmus + Mike Morse, pls.
Love the flexibility that would offer us. Normal everyday starting lineup would have Rasmus in RF and Morse at DH. Escobar Gordon Cain Hosmer Morse/Perez Rasmus Perez/Morse Moustakas Infante Some possibilities these guys could afford us: Against RHP, you could put Dyson in CF and DH Rasmus. Every once in a while, against LHP, you could replace Rasmus with Morse in RF and DH Salvy (needs to start happening this season, imo). Morse could spell Hosmer at 1B, as well. Lots of possibilities. This is my dream scenario, at this point. |

He did have a few big key hits. It was a nice KC swan song for him.

The Royals will send him to the minors to develop as a starter.

For most of his career Billy Butler was a one-tool player. In his best year he became a two-tool player. Now he is a zero-tool player. He can't hit for average, he can't hit for power, he can't run, he can't throw, he can't play defense. What is his value again? |

And if it really meant that much for him to stay how about paling around with Gordon a bit and get your fat ass in shape. He has access to the best trainers out there but refuses to be a professional. Eventually breaking down game film as you chomp into a Mcrib doesnt cut it. He made stupid choices and I have no sympathy for stupid. I appreciate what he did but this crying shit now is all on him. Maybe he will learn something.

Rany speculating that KC might want to think about taking a flyer on Brett Anderson, who was just bought out by the Rockies.
He's got an injury history, but has put up good numbers in a pretty tough park to pitch. Rany basically said that his ground ball rate plus the Royals defense plus the K might be a nice formula for him. To expand on that, I think we would probably be a top destination for any pitcher looking to restart/re-launch their career for what was on full display all year. Great defense and a great ballpark to pitch in. |

He's a strict DH at this point. Wretched fielding stats and he'd be abysmal in Kauffman.
We are going to sign a starter. You can't rely on Duffy for an entire season. We need a 5th guy anyway. Dunno who it'll be but DM will sign one for sure. |
