I don't think I've ever seen this thread fall to the 2nd page.
http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/p...by-100/1348383 Microsoft cuts price of high-end Xbox 360 by $100 by Ben Silverman The empire has officially struck back. On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed weeks of speculation by formally announcing a $100 price drop of its Elite model Xbox 360 console, now set at the competitive $299 price point. "With the holiday season right around the corner, it's already time to start looking for entertainment and gifts that everyone will enjoy," said Shane Kim, corporate vice president of strategy and business development for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft Corp. "If you’re looking for deep experiences that don’t require deep pockets, now is the time to purchase an Xbox 360." The newly discounted Elite, which packs a 120 GB hard drive, will replace the company's standard 60 GB Xbox 360 Pro model, which itself will enjoy a $50 price cut (to $249) while supplies last. Microsoft will continue to sell the budget-minded but feature-lite Xbox 360 Arcade model alongside the Elite at its current price of $199. The pricing restructure comes just weeks after Sony dropped the price of its newly redesigned Playstation 3 console. With Microsoft's cut, both the Xbox 360 Elite and the Playstation 3 Slim now share a $299 price tag, setting up a toe-to-toe battle over the all-important Q4 holiday season. Your turn, Nintendo. |

I really like the Black Xbox because it goes w/ my entertainment center, but thinking about it, if the Elite no longer has included HDMI cable or any other extras, is it worth the extra money?
Does the Arcade have the HDMI slot in the back? If so I'll just get that and snag a HDD on the cheap. |

$299 with a blu ray drive, wifi, and free online play vs $299 with no blu ray, no wifi, and $40-$50 a year....the better value is easily the PS3.
Except of course if you like crappy games like Halo |

Elite is still a great value (despite you having to spend $10 or less on an HDMI cable).

Mercs 2 was surprisingly good. The mission variety was lacking but the gameplay and graphics were as good as any sandbox/GTA clone I've played. Definitely worth $6.

Engadget has an amazon link from germany that shows the 360 with a 250GB HD. That would be sweet. Of course M$ will probably charge about $400 to buy the 250 GB HD alone.

Outside of Gears, I could care less about any of those games.

Cool
but if you don't care anything about Mass Effect 2 or Alan Wake, you don't have a soul.

Never played it and never plan to. I haven't found an RPG I like yet.

Dude. I HATED Fallout 3 and could not get into Oblivion at all. Why would I even consider trying another one? Never even liked the FF games I tried. I think I have given the genre plenty of chances to win me over and it is fail after fail.
Oh and by the way, I don't play LBP. That was for my kids.
