This is the same organization that traded for Cassel and drafted T-Jack and that's been dumpster diving for other team's backups for YEARS. Good thing Scooter's gone.
I have faith the new regime will do the right thing though.

This QB class is being looked at and frowned upon because of the last draft, and the fact that Smith and Wilson played for teams lacking in overall talent, which led to mediocre team records.
Looking the the previous drafts, there are only 3 or 4 QBs, at best, who were better prospects from 2002 to 2011. Looking at those drafts, the only #1 overall QBs that I would consider better prospects would be Carson Palmer and Eli Manning, other than Luck. From where I sit, and to the best of my recollection, there are only 5 or 6 QBs that actually had fewer question marks in these drafts. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...4315--nfl.html

Relying on another team's shitty backup is part of the reason we've picked in the top of the draft for the last 5 years. |

The wonderful 2008 Miami Dolphins(810 radio) model of LT in the first and QB in the second:
#1 - Jake Long #32 - Philip Merling #57 - Chad Henne So much better than taking a Matt Ryan at #3 or Flacco at #18 |

I'll put all of the CP minds at ease. Your GM says, "Best Player Available" right? Well let's look at the Chiefs' roster. What is the most inept, and talentless position you have on the team?.....And who is the BPA from that position in this draft?.......Ergo Geno Smith will be picked #1 overall.
Does any of this make sense? |

in what way are the Jaguars worse off than us for having drafted Gabbert? anyone? we're drafting #1 even though we avoided the incredible risk of drafting a QB.... the idea that drafting a QB is risky in some special way that other positions are not is pure grade bullshit...
