Ted Ginn on the block

I think he would fit extremely nicely as a slot receiver/KR/PR. I imagine the Tuna would require a 4th or maybe even 2 of our 5ths. Would you pull the trigger?

That's it.

They had three, FOUR impressive (if you count the playoff game against Cincy...two teams I think the Chiefs could have beaten the way Charles was rolling to end the year)...

and two of them were the first two games of the year against Houston and New England...where no one really knew what to expect from the Jets defense or offense.

THAT'S WHY I THINK THEY ARE IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE...

They are a fraud disguised as some team that almost went to the Super Bowl...

Here comes 7-9! They aren't sneaking up on anyone this year.
any team that wins in the NFL is impressive. For a team to go that deep and make a run w/ a ROOKIE is truely impressive.
anyway im bored w/ your argument.
im out.

I still don't see anyone arguing against the possibility that they take a step back.

What I do see people arguing is that even if they do, it has little bearing on whether Sanchez becomes a FQB.

Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco didn't exactly set the world on fire in their 2nd years, either.

Guess we should write them off as well.

They have an amazing offensive line with a running game that takes off a ton of pressure from the QB...which can then allow them to dictate the passing game with play-action passes...which are generally high percentage pass plays that don't lead to many turnovers...especially for a team that has the #1 rush offense in the NFL...they added a back that can catch passes very well (LDT), a back who runs like the LJ of 2005 (Greene), and another back that adds a ton of versatility and playmaking ability (Washington)...they have a very good possession receiver (Cotchery), a great pass catching TE (Keller), and now two explosive deep threats (Edwards and Holmes)...

If a QB can't be successful in that offense...

I have a hard time believing they can ever be successful...

Sanchez had an entire rookie season and three playoff games...

If he has a down season this year...with his supporting cast...dude is doomed for failure...

and I think that's exactly what is going to happen...

The book is out on the Jets...the tape is there...and they aren't going to sneak up on everyone...they have a ton of egos on both sides of the ball...lets see how it translates...

I have a feeling...it's going to get sloppy in the Meadowlands.

Not ready to write off Ryan but I don't think Flacco ends up being all that...

Flacco is another guy that has all of the talent around him now...if he doesn't show something this year...might have just been a flash in the pan.

hey...

for the record...

I'm the guy who was chastised by EVERYONE for saying Carson Palmer was super overrated and nothing more than a mediocre QB that needs to be replaced before the start of last season...

Dude has terrible pocket presence and sketchy accuracy...continued to prove my very point after their fluke of a season tailed off last year...

He's a 5-11 season away from being on the hot seat.

I'm also the guy who won a bet with a guy who never paid up on this site two years ago when I said Rodgers would have a 90+ QB rating and start 10+ games in Green Bay...

That guy quit the board and stopped posting because he didn't want to pay up...

I'm also the guy who called Romo before he ever played a snap in the NFL.

I'm also the guy who said Huard was a better fit than Green for the Chiefs in 2006...

I'm also the guy who has been saying Peyton Manning >>>>>>>> Tom Brady since 2003...

Apparently I know what I'm watching when I watch QB's play.

Wow, no double standard there.

Ryan had VERY similar tools at his disposal last year, and regressed.

Power running game? Check.

Versatile playmaking RB? Check.

Solid OL? Check.

Superstar deep threat? Check.

HOF TE? Check.

And you admit that Flacco has the talent around him, but he gets three years, while you're giving Sanchez two.

That's some mighty fine logic, there.

why don't you go bump your Carson Palmer MVP thread or the thread where you made fun of me for saying Chris Johnson was the best running back in the NFL last year...

My fearless predictions turn out to be right a whole hell of a lot more than yours...

Remember the first half of last year when the Bengals kept winning those flukey games where Palmer played terrible for three quarters and then put together one drive at the end of the game against a prevent defense and you kept telling me how great he was?

...

Yeah.

We have plenty of underachievers. We really don't need anymore.
Ginn, unlike the other WRs you listed has value as a kick/punt returner.

He is a proven commodity as a return man in the NFL... unlike anyone the Chiefs would potentially draft in the 5th round (or anywhere else in the draft for that matter).

Ah boy, remember when you thought Larry Johnson was awesome and the Chiefs should pay him? Or when you thought Tyler Thigpen was good?

But hey take Chris Johnson in your fantasy league, when everything out there says he'll see a stark decline in stats because RB's that see a significant carry spike follow it up with subpar years.

well Ryan and Flacco still had DECENT years...

Sanchez had a god awful, miserable, terrible, how are we going to hide this guy sort of year.

I think Ryan will be a franchise QB...I've seen throws from Flacco (and Sanchez) that make me say "wow"...but I don't think the consistency will ever be there.

I think Flacco has a better chance than Sanchez though, that's for sure.

And seriously...watching the guy before he was drafted conduct his business and interviews...I said a number of times Sanchez had "it" and I liked him...but after watching him play...

Nope. Can't say that I see it...yet.

If he doesn't show it this year, I just don't think he has it.

The dude hasn't even flashed anything yet...a good throw here and there...shit...Ryan Leaf had a 4 TD game years after he sucked with the Cowboys...

I bet Ryan Leaf could suit up and still make a wow throw here and there in the NFL.
