Who stood out in tonight's game?

I wasn't able to watch it, but I heard about Maclin. About time we have a player that won't take any shit. How did Tyreek do? Who else stood out? Thanks.

I'm tempering the angst against March, he had only played that spot next to DJ for like a week and that was his first start. He looked like a guy that was trying to make a huge play every snap.

Or someone. Maybe Jah Reid? Maybe a waiver wire pickup? Morse to LG, Fulton to Center?

I'm just spitballing but Ehinger's not ready, IMO.

Sure, he could have turned his head but I didn't expect it. That type of coverage isn't his forte.

Yeah, I'm just not seeing it. And while the Chiefs have had problems with Case Keenum in the past (when he played for the Texans), good grief, their receivers are garbage.

And their play against the run was awful. Todd Gurley's a stud but Cunningham? Really?

I wouldn't go as far as terrible but I'd say mediocre. They look nothing like 2015's depleted defense or even 2014's. I'd venture to say that it's mainly due to the young guys, including Justin March, who truly looks like a JAG. I mean, if I'm looking forward to the return of Josh Mauga, who isn't terrible but isn't above average, ILB is still an issue, despite the resources thrown at the position.
The 2015 depleted defense never really had to play a good offense, until it got to NE.

I'm not "angry" but I think the camp hype was just that: Hype. March didn't look good replacing DJ last week and he didn't look even competent playing next to him.

I've had extremely high expectations for this season, which were bolstered by the camp reports but I think I need to walk them back a bit because the camp "Stars" have all been disappointing.

And where the hell was Rod Streater? Why wasn't he with the 1's? Wilson sucks ass.

Exactly. He looked like he was trying way too hard to impress and win that spot.

Eh, even then, had the offense not been down to 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers, the Chiefs would have had a chance to win.

To me, this is different. This is guys not knowing their assignments, getting fooled on easy to read plays and just straight up immaturity.

There's too much of it at this point for the Chiefs to win games without the offense throwing up 27+ each week while they attempt to catch up on the other side of the ball.

The freaking Rams suck. Stink. Awful. And they moved the ball pretty much at will.

I thought March looked much better last week replacing Dj than next to him, but it was a pretty small sample. He needs reps there.

It's nice to hear about guys having good camps, but they tend to always work out not so well.

Well, thats probably what the d is gonna have to do this year, just give the offense a chance to win.

No, he won't play Aaron Donald every week but he'll also have to play 4 quarters and any strength gap is only going to get wider as the game goes longer. Moreover, he's not going to get to rotate in/out like the DL he'll be facing. Finally, he's gotten beat badly enough by strength the last 2 weeks that I'm confident that any DT with above average power will give him fits and over 4 quarters of football, that can blow up a lot of drives.

Fulton needs to be the starter this year, IMO.

And while I don't agree with you on Parker's play being necessary (that ball was horribly underthrown and Parker had position; just turn your head, dumbass), I am with you on the Murray, Nelson and White thing. What were people seeing there? Especially this fawning praise of DJ White. Huh? I really thought Murray and White were routinely among the worst players on the field and Nelson wasn't a lot better.

The defense, as a whole, was ****ing terrible. It was hard for me to find any true bright spots at all.

Pretty much spot on. I watched the same game you did.

Yea because I'm saying they are right now, right?

That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying they don't need to be ready right now, and if needed later on I'm confident they won't be the disaster they were in their first start.

Answer the question, would we not have said the same thing after Gaines preseason perfomance his rookie season? How'd that turn out when we needed him mid season?

As for Nelson, complete overreaction based on a couple plays against the NFL's best slot WR. Funny how I was given shit for just saying he looked good in a couple snaps vs. Hopkins in the playoffs, but some of the same people are ready to write him off because of a couple snaps in the preseason. His coverage was good on Saturday and I don't remember him getting beat much, if at all.

What was more disappointing to me was the front 7, specifically, DL, play with a lack of intensity and get manhandled at times. Thats supposed to be a strength of the team and it hasn't looked it thus far.

At the time, it didn't appear Gaines was going to have to play from day 1. One of those guys will.

It was a classic example of how inexperience in the secondary can be disastrous.

Murray and White are not playing day 1.

Nelson might, but he hasn't been nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.

You're only confident because you love the team.

Who gives a flying ****? Gaines isn't Nelson or Murry or White. They're all different players.

No two players have the same exact trajectory. Jesus ****.

Overreaction? You've been pimping Nelson all year long. You relished the camp reports and basically said "See everyone, I WAS RIGHT!".

Nelson hasn't done dick. He's missed containment, taken bad angles and played too soft. He looks like 5th or 6th corner, not a 3rd.

IMO, it's been because Sutton has called the wrong defenses and teams have been exploiting it.

I have to believe that once the game plans go into action, the leaky D-line will be resolved because there's too much talent for that to happen consistently.
