Smith is the best QB on the roster right now
If Smith goes down this year the team is ****ed. He's clearly the best QB on the roster right now.

A lot of variables go into YPA. Carr had many more attempts, and a bit less of a completion percentage. Things like the 80 yard TD pass to Kelce against Denver that was a 1 yard pass and a 99 yard run alter the stats. That one play is the difference in those two QB's been equal.

Again, Smith is good at what he does. Checkdowns, high completion percentage, low Interceptions, punts are good.

That he does. I have said that before.

When he throws even 1 interception though, not so much. He knows that, and Reid knows that. He is not going to throw it all over the yard. He is going to be what he is. And that requires the defense and special teams to step up huge nearly all the time. Can the defense force all the red zone turnovers they did last season? How about late game heroics from Berry and Peters?

He does win, but with lots of help.

Sexy stats can be overrated but in the end the large majority of SB winning QB's have said stats. Doesn't mean it's necessary, but it would imply some of the skill needed to put up those stats is what it takes to win a SB.

Also, like Carr, Smith would also have to trade things in for a SB trophy and basically made the same amount of noise as Carr in the playoffs.

That's very good INT rate. The TD's would depend upon how many games he played.

My question though is why do you choose to use regular season wins to defeat the stats argument but then try to use playoff stats to defeat the playoff losses argument?
