I figured I would start a thread for this and see what happens....there seemed to be quite a few viewers on the board for this show the past few weeks.....I like the direction the show is taking so far......episode 3 tonight at 7 central on ABC....

A thought: Anubis was originally the Egyptian god of the underworld. One of the long running theories concerning the island is that it is hell or something such (insert various terms and definitions for the afterlife). In addition to Anubis, many people have speculated that the smoke monster is Cerberus, the guard of Hades in Greek mythology. Cerberus had three heads and if you check out pics of the smoke monster, it looks like there are always 3 distinct parts to it. It was also explicitly shown separating into 3 parts in one particular ep. that I don't recall. Additionally, the comment Locke's dad makes when he is being held on the island, "Don't you know where you are," certainly left you with the impression that at the very least he thought he was in hell. I'm really starting to lean this way. Could just be another red herring though.
