If Auburn and Clemson lose next week, Mizzou would be no worse than #4 provided they beat TAMU. If Mizzou goes on to beat Alabama? How do they only go from #4 to #3? I have to believe that Mizzou would jump to #2 in that scenario. As for the Sugar Bowl, that's probably going to be Auburn if Mizzou loses against TAMU. If Mizzou's second loss occurs in Atlanta, then the Sugar Bowl's decision between Mizzou and Auburn gets more complicated. |

Until I see us get picked over another team in that situation (11-2 MU vs. 10-2 Auburn) I'm going to assume we aren't getting the Sugar Bowl.

If Mizzou wants the Sugar Bowl than we should hope that Alabama mercilessly destroys Auburn next week, and that Alabama merely beats Mizzou by two scores.

Another scenario.....MU beats aTm and Auburn beats Bama. MU and Auburn play and MU wins...that puts them in NCG. But if MU loses the CCG to Auburn, it's a pretty good bet that Auburn gets the NCG and Bama gets the Sugar Bowl game. For MU that loss to SC will continue to haunt us....3 inches to the right |

This season, no matter how good it is and still will be, is going to be remembered as one of the biggest 'what if' seasons in school history.

So since the Sugar Bowl is the SEC #1 team, if we beat A&M but lose to Alabama would we not automatically get the spot since we would be the runner up in the SEC and Alabama would be in the 'ship? Or does it not work that way?

It's always hard to tell on TV because they can make it sound really loud or minimize it no matter how many people are there. But Gary Pinkle made it a point to talk about the great fan turnout in his post game comments so you must have been doing something right.

But I think we see Missouri at either No. 5 or No. 6 in the BCS standings today, with a slim margin either way. Win next week vs. aTm, and I think they jump Clemson regardless. Either Auburn or Alabama is going to lose and fall below Mizzou (likely). I don't see a way 11-1 Mizzou is less than 4th in the BCS at this time next week. Beat Alabama, and I think they've got a good shot to get into the No. 2 spot. Of course, Michigan State could just help Mizzou out and knock off Ohio State in the B1G championship game and remove any debate.

Odds of beating the Aggies next week, though? It just seems like what A&M does well is exactly what the Mizzou defense cannot stop, no matter how telegraphed.

1. Mizzou beats aTm 2. Auburn to lose to Alabama 3. tOSU lose to either Michigan or Michigan State 4. SC beat Clemson 5. Mizzou beat Alabama in the SECCG I don't see FSU losing to anyone left on their schedule as long as they don't lose Winston. Basically if the above scenarios happen (the top 3 are highly possible, the 4th, not so much), Missouri could end up in the BCS championship game. They could probably get a BCS game if the above happens and they are at least competitive against Alabama. |

They won't jump Florida State. Will have to see the standings today to see how far they'd have to go to jump undefeated Ohio State.

We should be 6 when it comes out today, so assuming Auburn and Clemson lose and we beat aTm, we should be 4 going into the SECCG.
Hard to see us NOT jumping tOSU with a win over Bama. Which is unlikely, but if we're 4 going into the SECCG, and lose to Bama, we should still finish above Auburn in the BCS (assuming they fall to 9 or 10 after a loss to Bama next weekend). |
