There is a sizeable gap between Mizzou (No. 6) and Clemson (No. 14) in the computers. Probably already have jumped Clemson in the BCS rankings.

Either way, in the honest best case scenario, we'll beat aTm and lose to Bama. End up within 2 spots of Auburn in the final standings, either higher or lower, and get picked for the inaugural Fred's Deli bowl in some shithole on the day after Christmas that no one will go to and further the idea that MU doesn't travel.
The Sugar Bowl in NOLA, against any sort of an interesting opponent would get me thinking about going. |

If you lose by 25 points you should always drop at least 10-15 spots.

Clemson was seventh and Missouri tied for eighth in the last computer rankings.

Mobile quarterbacks have always destroyed Missouri. I'm also worried that Manziel is coming off probably the second worst game of his career. Our corners don't have the size to go up against someone like Evans, and our DL has rarely displayed any ability to scrape and hold containment. Also, our linebackers are not athletic enough to spy him. It's a really, really bad matchup.

Went back to a few articles preseason and chuckled at preseason predictions:
http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports...cts-the-sec-2/ 5. Missouri (Last year: 5-7) What happened last season? Missouri’s first year in the SEC was, shall we say, eye-opening. The Tigers suffered their first losing season under Gary Pinkel in eight years thanks, at least in part, to the fact that quarterback James Franklin couldn’t stay healthy. Missouri’s only two conference wins came against Kentucky and Tennessee. So why are they ranked here? It’s not a stretch to think Mizzou can have, say, a two-game swing in the win column this season. The Tigers don’t have to play Alabama or LSU out of the West and there are about four winnable conference games on the schedule. Franklin has to stay healthy, which could again be an issue if the offensive line doesn’t come through. Running back Henry Josey returns after missing last season with a significant knee injury and one-time five-star wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is a sophomore who needs to have a big year. A lot of previously unknown names are going to have to emerge as playmakers. Anything else? Pinkel has been the head coach of Mizzou for 13 years if you can believe it. And, if nothing else, the Tigers have been fairly consistent with winning records. But a new conference and a disappointing 2012 campaign has made the seat beneath Pinkel’s keister a little warm. If there’s not at least a little bit of a turnaround, or some reason to be excited about the future, Mizzou could be looking for another direction by year’s end. One other interesting comment I found in there.... "The East will continue to be dominated by Georgia and South Carolina at least for another season," |

The front four is going to have to get a lot more pressure than they did against Ole Miss, and the back seven is going to have to tackle better. Plus, it's Mizzou. Never, ever discount that fact. There was far too much counting of chickens after the Florida game. I could see this team winning a ten point game, I could see them getting blown out, and I could see them blowing another multiple score lead in the most heartbreaking fashion possible. I've been too traumatized by this team to expect anything else.

If we win out, both Alabama and Auburn will have lost. We would be no worse than third at that point. We would need Ohio State or Florida State to lose...but anything is possible at this point.
For all practical purposes, there are only five teams that can win the NC...and we are one of them.
