Falcons after Gonzalez

Sorry if re-post, didn't see it anywhere.
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pla...rt=NFL&id=1331

The Falcons are reportedly interested in trading for Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez.
The National Football Post's Michael Lombardi says the Falcons are "seriously considering" the option, with their second-round pick as bait. Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt is attached to his franchise icon, but he might be convinced to part ways as the team rebuilds.

Atlanta has the 55th pick in the second. Maybe Jarron Gilbert or Paul Kruger although I'd rather see Tony stick it out here.

The only reason I don't see Bowe as a #1 is his aparent lack of breakaway speed. However, that may just be the way they utilized him in the routes he ran. As for his dropsies, I am thinking (hoping) he had a bit of a sophomore slump with the dropsies. Gonzalez had a shitlaod his second year too, iirc.
Yeah, he doesn't have elite speed..but neither does Fitz.

You don't have to be really fast to be a legit #1, but you sure as shit HAVE to catch the ball.

It's just a hunch. He looks soft, and with his frame, I think he will be prone to a lot of injuries.

Cottam is a effin stud. 6'7" monster..I dunno how soft could even possibly be in your vocabulary to describe him.

If he's such a stud, then why did he only have 21 career grabs and 1 TD?

And, for such a big guy, he's not a good blocker.

Ah...

Hakeem Nicks.

Not a particularly fast WR, but does a lot of things well.
Good hands, runs routes well, good after the catch.

Michael Irvin-esque.

I'll take him. I think I'd rather have a guy like DHB who can be a vertical threat, but I wouldn't complain at all if they took Nicks.

Based on 40 time alone Bowe is faster than guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Terrell Owens and had an almost identical time to Brandon Marshall. I really don't think his speed would keep him from being a true #1 WR.

I actually think Nicks is a bit better than he's given credit for. Being a vertical threat is more than just being super fast and he very much understands how to get open on those routes.

I see alot of Reggie Wayne and a little Anquan Boldin in him.

A TE that tall is going to take a lot of hits around his knees.

Also, a guy that big should have developed himself into a blocker. He didn't and that tells me that he's not physical.

He has all the intangibles. I can live with 4.5 40 speed.

Strengths:
Ideal height and bulk with long arms...Excellent route runner...Has big, strong, reliable hands...Plucks the ball out of the air and can make the difficult catch...Great body control and ball skills...Aggressive and is a decent leaper...Good balance and agility...Tough, strong and physical...Will work the middle of the field...Able to do some damage after the catch...Nice instincts and awareness...Team player with solid intangibles...Extremely competitive...Experienced...Very productive.

Weaknesses:
Just average speed and quickness...Is not very explosive and lacks a burst...Doesn't get a lot of separation...Probably won't be much of a vertical threat...Not very elusive and lacks wiggle...Motor runs hot and cold...Must work harder as a blocker...Might be a little too cocky.

Notes:
Was a three-year starter in the ACC...Never lost a single game in high school...Named 1st Team All-ACC in 2007 and 2008...Holds 14 Tar Heel records including career receptions, career receiving yards and career touchdowns...Wrapped up his college career with an amazing performance in the Meineke Car Care Bowl where he caught 8 balls for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns...Missed one game with an ankle sprain in 2006 but otherwise was pretty healthy...The best of the three Tar Heel wideouts that will be drafted this year...Is not the most physically gifted prospect in the world but he makes up for it by doing all of the little things...Profiles as a prototypical possession receiver in the NFL.

When I read these I always wonder, especially at the WR position what's wrong with being cocky?

****in Corner get's TORCHED at 2:50! Kid does have "glue hands".

Haley rode Fitz's ass on timing and routes, I see a lot of that problem with Bowe. Of course, having someone throw to you that isn't Tyler Thigpen will probably help a lot too.
