We didn't do it last year but we did it two years ago and I'm bringing it back. Post in here if you want to drop some poundage and I'll add you to the main post. Set yourself a goal and then post in here to be held accountable. If you want....we can track your weight-loss all year long and then crown a winner at the end of the year. I know in the past that posters have put up prizes (not necessary).

Started at 311. Goal is to lose one pound a week. If I can get to 260 by the end of 2015, that'll be just fine.

I got a fitbit for Christmas and it's kind of cool with the info it provides. According to the fitbit I don't burn as many calories in a day as I thought. I went Quail hunting today and the fitbit says I've taken over 15000 steps, walking 7.42 miles, climbing 32 floors and burning over 2700 calories.

That 2700 calories includes your base calorie burning as well from just living.

Over the last year and half, I have a serious lack of energy along with my blood pressure going up. There have been some other issues too. I have felt that if I could lose weight, some of these problems would clear up. However, no matter how much I try, I'll lose a few pounds, stall out and slowly regain the weight.

I never had a problem losing weight in the past (the problem was keeping it off). I finally ended up going to the doctor on Monday and he ordered a bunch of tests. His nurse called this evening and told me the tests revealed a low thyroid. They also revealed low testosterone. Either will cause difficulty in losing weight, so it's a double whammy.

I start thyroid meds tomorrow and have to check with the insurance on how they cover the testosterone replacement. I was really hoping to be older before I got on the medicine merry-go-round. On the plus side, getting that fixed may make it much easier to lose weight.

I found a veggie I like. Spinach leaves are quite good. Apparently they are super healthy. I'll have to add that to my meals.

For the 24hr cycle I burned 3,417 calories, walked 8.42 miles and walked up what added up to 38 floors.

I eat a lot of Greek yogurt. I use protein mixes for my smoothies. I try and have one smoothie a day - typically no more than 300 calories. I mix lots of fruit and or veggies together for the mix. I also add Coconut Water for more flavoring
