Correct me if I'm wrong, but hadn't Daniel just had his brains turned to soup against Okie State when he threw that pick?
I mean if we're going to give Gabbert a pass for shaking off a concussion a week later, surely Daniel gets a little leeway for suffering one in that game.

Daniel was hurt early in that game IIRC and had surgery following the season.

I don't recall a concussion and it wasn't well publicized but I remember it coming out after the season that he had surgery I think on his throwing hand (thumb) and that it was hurt in the OkSt game.
I can't find anything online to corroborate this and it's possible I'm misremembering some element of the situation.

He took the hardest hit I recall him taking in his college career in that game. He never really recovered from it. He wasn't the same guy from that moment on.
I don't think it was ever diagnosed as a concussion, but he was wobbly getting to the sidelines and ended up throwing 3 picks going forward in that game. I'm honestly not sure he knew what was going in the 2nd half.

I just remember him getting up with that wide-eyed look after getting detonated midway through the 2nd quarter. EDIT: According to the MU Trainer, the thumb injury was in the Big 12 Title Game.

Injuries would make sense. At the time I chalked up Daniel's disappointing senior season to his mental approach - I thought he'd bought into too much of his own hype.

I remember seeing him come out for the Oklahoma State game with a fauxhawk and thinking we could be in trouble.

Show me where I ever complained about the 2010 recruiting class or DGB.

Would you think he was as prone to disasters if Jerrell Jackson didn't let a perfectly thrown ball bounce of his bitchmade face and into the hands of an Iowa DB turning a TD into a pick? I don't think any MU QB other than Gabbert wins that Oklahoma game. That's still the best team that any Pinkel team has ever beaten, but it gets lost in the shuffle because of how that season ended.
