Well, it was, but that was before the reins were taken from Lucas.

Now, it could literally be anything.

It's almost time to start an Episode VIII thread, as shooting begins next month.

I still find it odd that the "bad guy" of Epi 8 is Benecio Del Toro. How will that work, with Kylo Ren and Snoke?

They've also yet to announce the casting of another female lead...

I think it would be cool if Snoke is an ancient Sith lord who was 'downloaded' into a Sith holocron. So far, we've only seen him as a holographic projection. He could have lain dormant in some Sith temple for thousands of years until someone (Plagueis?) discovered him. Maybe Palpatine was able to contain him, but now that Palpatine is gone, Snoke was able to exert his will and take over.

It's probably not true, but my mind keeps going back to the idea.

I have nothing to back this theory up, but Snoke being Ezra from Rebels keeps sticking in my brain.

Yeah, you would think that at some point, Ezra or Kanan would be involved or even Ahsoka Tano. Maybe Benicio Del Toro is playing a version of Ezra?

But as to Snoke, the books invalidate the theory that he's a Rebels character:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Snoke

Snoke witnessed the rise and eventual fall of the Galactic Empire. He had several apprentices before he became invested in the Skywalker bloodline, believing General Leia Organa and Han Solo's son, Ben, the grandson of Darth Vader, had the right balance of the dark and light sides of the Force in him.

Hasn't it been established in the canon that Palpatine had a significant amount of resources working on military experiments, along with exploring the abilities of Force users BEYOND the Outer Rim? There is no way the First Order could have came to life and managed to construct Starkiller Base in under 30 years. It HAD to be a creation of the Empire, which begs the question of what else is floating around out there in uncharted space?

If my assumption is correct, then that opens up an entire realm of possibility of what the First Order really is and what they are capable of.

I honestly have no idea if that stuff is canon.

This, IMO, is MUST WATCH. WOW!

VFX are just so amazing in 2016. Seeing all the shots, along with the music, makes me like the movie a little better, too.

Possibilities...

I predict that Kylo Ren comes back to the light side in Ep8, and Del Toro becomes the defacto baddie controlled by Snoke.
