Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Only annoying thing - apparently H&K doesn't work and play well with others when it comes to their mounting rails. I have to order a ****ing adapter to mount the Veridian laser/light that I got (the Ruger 9mm is fun, but obviously an H&K .40 will be the primary home defender). One site wanted $50 for it (bastards), but then I found one on ebay for $56 that had an adapter plus a red laser. So I guess I'll use the adapter to mount the Veridian and put the other one on the Ruger. I think this will be end of the orgy of gun spending for a while - if I keep it up, the wife is liable to shoot me with one of them. |

When I quit smoking, I designated my former cigarette money to buy fun items, a reward to keep me from falling off the wagon. It's worked for 10 years or so now. After filling the closet w/good wine and whiskey it was time to buy guns & knives. Every 3 or 4 months I can justify a new gun, or wait 6 months and buy 'nicer' guns. I probably need to thin the herd, but I have NEVER been happy that I sold a gun.

You know what? Anytime my fridge acts up, I just remind it that I know frazod the fridge killer. End of problem.
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with trading up. I may give some thought to that. I bought a lot of milsurp stuff while I lived in Texas in the 90s. I've made money on all of those. It's pretty seldom that I actually sell something while I have a profit...but it's a thought.

I just won an auction on gunbroker.com for a IWI/Magnum Research Baby Eagle in .40 S&W (polymer frame).......I've been after one for a long time and they're hard to find, esp. at the price I'm gonna pay.

Just got back from the range - first time shooting the H&K.
Love the gun, just wish I had used it more effectively. While I had my share of bullseyes, I also had an annoying tendency to pull down and to the left, and when I tried to compensate for it things got ugly. Last group of 20 I had five bulls, two 9s, three 8s, six 7s, 2 6s and 2 misses. All but two would have been fatal, but still, I need more practice. When you're shooting an H&K, it's kind of hard to blame to gun. And from the DUMBASS YOU SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AROUND BEFORE YOU BUY department, the gun store had that conversion rail for $20. I paid $60 for that and a laser I don't need last night. DAMMIT CARL |

Sounds like a good excuse to go back to the range.
