The MIA Heat Show Thread

LA will be dethroned. The LAC Lake Show will be dead. So it's time to create a thread to follow the new dynasty.

Going on tour starting this October.

Do you stand by that statement?
If so, if you don't consider scoring 42/15/7/3 in a Finals game as a rookie on your way to becomig the first rookie finals MVP to be imposing your will upon a game then how do you define imposing your will?
1) He didn't play center. He took the tip. He never guarded a center, and he took the ball up court every possession.

2) One instance of a guy dominating a game is not the same as physically overpowering an entire game time and time again. Guys like Dana Barros, Shareef Abdur Raheem, and Clifford Robinson have all scored 50+ in a game. That's not to equate Magic with journeymen, but he wasn't the dominant force of nature that guys like LeBron, MJ, and Kobe are/were.

The difference is that LeBron, MJ, and Kobe all have the ability to completely physically dominate a game on a regular basis.

Massive outbursts of points, an ability to shred double and triple teams, and consistently score with a hand in your face, as well as get to the line whenever you want to.

In other words you didn't watch the game, aren't old enough to have watched Showtime and so have no idea what you are talking about. Thanks junior.
Putting LeBron in the same league as Magic tells me all I need to know about the depth of your hoops experience.

In other words, you have to completely deflect from the discussion at hand and make wholly erroneous accusations.

That tells me all I need to know about your hoops "knowledge".

Fortunately, they have this thing called ESPN Classic. I've actually watched that game, along with several of the Lakers-Celtics and Lakers-Pistons Finals games.

The other thing: LeBron's career isn't over yet, but even if it were, you couldn't look at him and say that he didn't reach his potential. He should be 1 or 1a in the GOAT discussion when he's done, but it's apparent that he doesn't have the guts to do it, which is the true crime in this whole debacle.

If they add Juwan Howard, their frontcourt is set.

They would just need one more perimeter defender. A Tony Allen type would be perfect.
what aboit raja bell.?? what happened to that guy, wasnt he a pretty good defender in the past? did he hit the wall

Raja Bell has expressed interest in joining Miami and I think he'd be a great addition.

If the heat get Raja Bell....they will be stocked full of good role players. Just need a good defensive presence. W/ the Thunder having Aldrich and Mullens already, maybe the Heat could try to get Serge Ibaka. Seems to be a good defender and rebounder.

My point is they have 3 centers, whose main role is playing defense and rebounding.

Cole Aldrich
BJ Mullens
Serge Ibaka

Hell, they have Nenad Krystic who isn't a prototypical center but he gets the job done. They'll have to move one of these guys eventually.

If the Heat actually win the title this year I'll post a pic of my balls on this thread. Not gonna happen. But if so, you all would love my balls (no homo).

I'd say there is a 90% chance that either the Heat or the Lakers win next year. Lakers probably 55%, Heat 35%. Pretty good odds.

I don't trust "super teams." Ask Karl Malone how that turned out in 04 or the Redskins all star team in 99. The Lakers are a well built team from top to bottom and a class organization that knows how to balance stars with role players. They all have to click, of course, everything has to click when you win titles. I don't know if the Heat can do that in one year. It will be fun to watch though. I'm a Bulls fan but I'm definitely watching the Heat vs. Cavs games this year lol that should be fun, and Heat vs. Lakers.

I'd put the Thunder's odds at trading Ibaka at about zero percent.

He's a building block for the immediate future.
