2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread

Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

Today at the optional skate two ****ing regulars showed up - Goc and Jaskin. The rookie and the 4th liner; I guess everyone else thought they'd earned a day off last night.

**** guys like Backes and Oshie that say the same ****ing shit every single time they get outworked. "Well we just didn't play 60 minutes of hockey and that's not good enough to win in this league...blah blah blah" Yes, we know Dave - how the **** did you forget already since you said the same thing after game one and at least 15 times during the regular season?

You guys have never won a goddamn thing and yet you walk around acting like the Blackhawks. Every other game you just throw your sticks on the ice and expect the opponent to roll over. Last night it didn't happen and they clearly just freaked out. Every time the Wild got the puck they were just given the blue line and the Blues couldn't even get possession in the Wild's end. It was a lay down and it was a bad enough effort that I expect the entire team will quit on this series.

Blow it up and build around Allen, Schwartz, Tarasenko, Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk. Watching Allen and Petro play their asses off this series while the rest of the team has been loafing has been maddening as shit. The Stastny experiment failed, Backes is a shit leader, Oshie is an erratic pretty boy and Steen's good enough that he can get you a return of some sort. Package Bouwmeester up with one of them and we might even be able to move that worthless asshole's salary.

18 hours later and I'm still livid at those heartless one who sucks the peniss. Just quit and go home.
This won't make you feel better most likely, but last night's game reminded me of the Avs' first game in Minnesota from last year's playoffs. The shot differential was 46-22, and the Avs basically looked like they got their asses handed to them the entire game. Only Varly being Varly kept it close, but the Avs lost 1-0 in OT. The Avs pushed it to a Game 7, but never won a game in Minnesota.

That team just plays out of their minds in front of that crowd. The Blues are gonna have to play their asses off to win there as well, I'd guess.

Oh.

Well I guess I don't need to watch anymore because "play their asses off" isn't a club this pack of prima donna posers has in their bag.

They were mediocre at home this year. Blues just took the night off apparently. Lack of effort just isn't something I can stomach.

Looks like the Flames won't have to deal with Alex Burrows tonight.

Spot on.

Backes and Oshie are nice guys, but they don't have that killer instinct. Personally, I think a lot of the problems with this team stem from the selection of Backes as captain. I don't think he ever really learned how to lead a NHL room, and it rubs off on the rest of the team.

I have a friend in Chicago who is friends with someone who spends a lot of time with Toews, and I've been told the guy is a raging douchebag - but he's a leader and a raging douchebag with two Stanley Cups to his credit.

The leadership on this team seems to think 50 wins in the regular season gives you a free pass to the second round.

Blow it up, give Petro the captaincy.

Broken rib for Burrows. According to reports he was leaving practice and gasped "help".

Wonder if that broken rib clipped something else?

Yeah, he must've. Sounds like he's gonna be OK in the long run though.

haha wow. I know its hard but during the playoffs they need to stay focus, plenty of that kind of thing waiting for them after the game. Hell I have seen the quality non affiliated AA players can snag, and its very impressive.
