Game of Thrones Thread

Feel free to discuss any future speculation, theories. Anything from the books is fair game to post. Everything that has been broadcast on TV or from HBO. No spoilers needed.

  1. If you watched or know the events that will take place in a unaired episode that has not been broadcast on HBO, you must put all the information and comments in a spoiler tag.
  2. Do not post any media of any kind involving actual content from unaired episodes without being in a spoiler. The only exception to the spoiler rule is content publicly posted from HBO and or the GOT actor themselves. Teasers, promos, trailers etc.

Any person unable to follow the spoiler rules will be banned from this thread. 14 days for first offense. Perm banned from the thread for a 2nd offense.

What's the deal?

Compromise.

I think after hearing what she'd done, Jon instinctively decided that a)he could not have such a despicable/unstable person by his side.. and b)he felt he owed her a bit for his.. resurrection.

i felt that was a great episode. With that said, I was kind of bummed by the illegitimacy of Jon. I wish the process was a bit neater. It seems they used the ToJ as a means to make Jon not a Snow, but they still pledged their allegiance to "Jon Snow." I guess I was hoping he would be pronounced a Stark and recognized as so.

Also, **** these wavering Northern Lords. Robb? King in the North! Killed by Bolton? Eh, he was a ****er that got my family members killed; I won't support your efforts, bastard! Jon won!? ARRRGH, KING IN THE NORTH!!!

I say that mostly in jest, but it bugs me slightly.

I was also really hoping they would legitimize Jon.

How will the show end? GRRM said it would be "bittersweet."

So I'm going with...White walkers destroy the north, kill Sansa. Dany and her dragons die stopping them at King's landing. Arya kills everyone on her shit list, but dies killing Cersei. Jon is the shitty King Westeros is left with to get through winter.

Last line from Tyrion "Well, I guess you're the King now. Enjoy ruling what's left of Westeros. I'm going to get drunk."

Yeah, that was completely amazing. I'll echo my announce at the teleporting Varys, but otherwise, holy shit that was badass.

One big question si whether Jon Snow is the legitimate Targaryen heir to the crown, or the bastard of Rhaegar instead of the bastard of Ned Stark. Might not matter for purposes of whether he can ride dragons, etc., but probably ties into the politics long term.

He's pretty much going to have to have Targaryen fire immunity, or else nobody will believe his claim (even if Howland Reed explains it all etc.).

And is his name really Jon, or was that just the cover name Ned gave him? "Jon" isn't particularly Targaryen to say the least.

For what? They could have ****ing managed to fit all of that in there if they'd cut Arya being beaten with a stick or Tyrion jokes.

I lol'd last week when they showed how Benioff lifted the Snow/Ramsay sequence from Troy because he'd written it but this is shit.
Holy shit, man. Your posts after each episode make me happy that I've never read the books.

Supposedly from the books, the Targaryens practice (or at least recognize) polygamy, so it's actually entirely possible he's legitimate.

No, he's just crazy. Sure there are minor things I could argue about, but focusing on the stupid little stuff that annoys you while ignoring the overall awesomeness is pretty dumb IMHO.

Why? He's not a Stark. Bloodlines come from fathers in the GOT realm.

No one knows that. Ned took the secret to his grave. As far as the Starks are concerned, he's Ned's son.
