If the Chiefs go 8-8 or better 49ers get a 2nd round pick.
A third- or second-rounder from Kansas City, the remnant of the Alex Smith deal. Now it can be told: The second draft choice San Francisco will receive from the Smith deal will be K.C.'s second-rounder in 2014 if the Chiefs go 8-8 or better this season. It will be a third-rounder in 2014 if Kansas City is under .500 this season.
So: San Francisco will probably have first-, second- and four third-rounders next year. But if the Chiefs surprise, it'll more likely be a one, two twos and three threes. As we've seen, GM Trent Baalke is dangerous with extra picks in his hands. If Colin Kaepernick is very good, the Niners should be annual contenders for years with the picks laid out that way. Does it matter?
Reid said after the Smith deal that they made up their mind about Alex before the combine. Before they had ever evaluated the QB class. He's admitted they weren't looking anywhere but at Alex Smith to be the starting QB. |

Perhaps because this is considered one of the worst QB drafts in many years. But, whatever, just waste the first pick in the draft to satisfy the minority who think only a QB drafted in the 1st will carry a franchise.

It's hard not to laugh at this. Even if they say that they want more than 8-8, and I'm certain that they *want* to finish better, revelations like this prove that they find 8-8 acceptable.
The difference between the Chiefs and other franchises isn't that the Chiefs don't want to win the Super Bowl. I'm sure they do. The Chiefs are different in that they accept and foster mediocrity as an adequate consolation prize.

I don't understand the people who say we shouldn't complain. When you see something going wrong, do you say something then or do you wait until its over to lament over it? Are we supposed to be happy that we got a QB that has completed the same number of seasons as Tony Moeaki despite being in the league 5 more years? Are we supposed to applaud Dorsey for trading our 2nd round pick for 8-8?
Im confused. Seriously. Yes some people take the hate over the top, but we're literally doing the same thing we've done the past 20 years regarding the most important position in all of Sports. In those 20 years, we have won a single playoff game. The only team in the league with a 20 year drought. But we're supposed to be okay with these moves? Posted via Mobile Device |

He said Bray wasn't much of a risk because they didn't draft him but has a chance if he gets his head on right. Really he talked about how important the O-line is and it all starts up front and the rest of the offense will follow.
Same shit as always. Never mind the most important position in the quarterback and build the team around him. We wont be drafting a quarterback next year because Andy Reid wants to draft versatile lineman.
