Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Like I need one. But I hate the local range. $20 for the lane, and you have to buy their overpriced ammo. I don't go there often.
I'll be heading back to Missouri again once the weather improves and hit the outdoor range near Kirksville. |

Finally had a chance to use my first handgun at a local range. I wasn't too concerned with accuracy, though I don't think I did too bad, just wanted to get used to shooting and putting 100 rounds through the Glock 19. Just finished cleaning and oiling, I'll probably go back out there in a couple weeks with some small targets.

Why are these mosin-nagants so cheap? I see them for 100 bucks on buds. Every other WWII type weapon is expensive.

So there is nothing cool about them?
Are they so cheap because so many of them were made? These take 7.62 x 54r ammo? Can I get that at wal mart? |

For those of you on the market for an AR, consider this - the FFL guy I picked up my .40 from is an ex-cop and range master, and runs his own gun business out of his house. While we were chatting I mentioned that I had a DMPS Panther Oracle, and he told me that its a great gun, especially for the price, and he regularly sells them to cops. Made me feel pretty good about my choice.

AMMO? No you cant get it at wallmart. not mine any ways. But its easy to get & very cheap. Most cheap surplus ammo has a corrosive primer. Clean it good after every range trip . http://www.midwayusa.com/ Cheap? Cause millions were made world wide. MOA 2 to 3 inches. Is plenty for a battle field weapon you paid a $100.00 Last edited by LiveSteam; 03-03-2011 at 04:16 PM.. |

Panther LR in 243. I was thinking about a Browning BAR in 243 for a new coyote rig. I think I like DMPS better & its the same money. |

Minot of angle. = how accurate your rifle is. Its big time bench rest talk & that all it is really. Few men can actually out shoot or shoot better than their weapons will allow with open sights . In my younger days i was a MOA shooter but alast im getting old & relegated
to MOofTorso as for buying? Buds aint bad. pawn shop gunshow ect will all have them. if you can find one built before Hitler headed to Moscow. chances will be that its a better rifle. Q/T was not being pressed yet at this time. bombs weren't being lobed at munition plants yet either. Dont pay over 100 PS this rifle can be frustrating for someone who dose not shoot a lot. I would never recommend this rifle for someones first. Vertical adjustment is at the front sight & takes a tool. Has to be cleaned & cleaned good. Kicks like a mule. Is a HUGE heavy rifle. Rifle cycle is to slow to be a good Zombie killer. & its way to long to be a home defense weapon. You will stick it through your Drywall before you get it aimed during a home invasion.
