Sorry if it's a repost, but I'm seeing a lot of talk about this... thought we might centralize the discussion.

This makes me excited.

Just make sure you're not evil. When you advance to 21 it will crash.

There's a code you can enter to gain/lose karma if need be.

Nothin' quite like cheating the game with mods.



My wife does this with a number of PC games... I just don't understand why it's even fun then.

Just like years and years ago with the original DOOM and Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein... how is it fun if you have all the weapons, all the ammo and unlimited lives?

Once you've finished the game it's always fun to go through with the cheat codes and exact revenge from those pesky situations that pissed you off. You may also find certain hidden gems that you may not have noticed before playing legit. Also the mods can add so much replayability for new quests, lands, weapons, etc that you may enjoy the mods moreso than the original game.

I totally understand using mods more more quests, lands, new characters, weapons, etc. But using a mod to make it so you can level up way beyond the game - eventually, wouldn't that make it so you were SO much more powerful than everything else it would take all the challenge out?

I guess these really qualify more as "cheats" than mods, but still.

For instance, ever played Oblivion with 100 percent chameleon on? It's ridiculous.

Yeah, it's mostly not even executable files, just an .esp you drop in your data folder and activate from the game's launcher.
