Sure that would be entirely possible. Not sure what kind of sense that would make. I also don't think it is likely that they had that in mind or that they would have traded for him without knowing ballpark of what it would take to sign him long term.

If there is any truth to that average type of figure. He is asking for way too much. I don't think he could get that anywhere. He is not worth that kind of money either. Most of the QBs are not though so.

I'm a big fan of Smith's and I don't think he's worth that. There aren't many QB's who are worth that. I'd be shocked to learn that was Smith's number and not something condon through out there to start the negotiations off somewhere ridiculously high. You don't say in a season-ending exit interview to the local sports show that you aren't looking to break the bank and then demand 19 million. That number would cripple the team and Smith wants to win the superbowl.
