You might be right. There's a general softness that has pervaded the last two teams that just didn't exist in past years. How much that is Self's responsibility is up for debate (Perry Ellis/Wayne Selden, for example, are probably never changing their ways no matter how they're coached, but he did recruit them in the first place).

Still, I don't think you can blame him too much for Embiid getting hurt or Cliff unexpectedly not developing at all/getting in trouble with the NCAA. Hard for anybody to overcome both of those. They were the nails in the coffin of each team.

You absolutely cannot call yourself a KU fan. You're a bandwagon joke.

However, I do think you may be onto something with Wiggins. I don't know if he mailed it in or just got frustrated, but that game against Standford was terrible for a top NBA lottery pick.

dgaf brah

I cheer for KU, man. I don't care if you think I'm a bad fan. I'm definitely not a diehard. Cheering for college shit doesn't really excite me. I've been a pro guy my whole life. The 1 and done's push me further away. Gee, cool, let's cheer for Cliff Alexander for 1 year and then maybe next year we'll get another one!

who gives a ****

March Madness is cool, though

Now, I'll give Wiggins the benefit of the doubt in the fact that, other than Durant, all of those aforementioned guys were already fully developed specimens. Wiggins still kind of looked like an 18 year old kid. Wiggins at 25 might be a scary, scary, scary player.
????

Wiggins had the KU freshman record in scoring. Sure guys like Beasley & Durant scored more their freshman years, but they also didn't go to Kansas. If Wiggins would have went to some chode school, he would have averaged 20ppg+ probably.

Wiggins was AMAZING last year. Imagine last years team without him? Would have been complete dog shit.

AMAZING doesn't play that game against Stanford in March Madness

it's one thing to have a "bad" game ... maybe you're aggressive and you get a few charges or miss a lot of shots

it's an entirely different thing to do what Andrew Wiggins did ... which was nothing ... he was a bystander on the biggest stage of his life

it was embarrassing

Wow..Very good stat.

Personally, I don't feel like a player or coach has alot of control in what games they play well in and what games they don't. I know fans and the media love this idea, that some player "just has the heart" and "rises to the occasion" but it's pretty much just not true IMO.

98. The Jayhawks were the only power-conference team to have multiple games without a three-pointer this season.

99. In a six-game stretch from February 23 to March 13, the Jayhawks made 11 of 69 three-point shots. That is 16%.

Just before that streak, KU was ranked #7 in the Nation in 3 point FG % too.

I actually kind of agree with you about the one and dones. I just cannot fathom how anyone can call themselves a KU fan and then cheer on KU's opponent. That's especially true when it comes to, as KCC pointed out, one of the best KU teams in Bill Self's tenure and one that was considered one of the favorites to win it all that year.

I know, it was crazy ridiculous. This came shortly after Self made the comment about fool's gold. I wonder if that got into their heads. One major factor in that statistic is that Brannen Greene went from 3 point assassin to can't hit the broad side of a barn.

In defense of Durant, that Texas team had a lot of talent, if memory serves.
